Hi All,
Since EV is going to be something common soon, perhaps in the next 5 years (sooner/later) - does it make sense to prepare a charging point for the EV at your renovation stage?
What kind of setup should it be? 4mm/6mm wire spec?
Since you are home reno now. These are the steps to maximise savings with EV in orderSince EV is going to be something common soon, perhaps in the next 5 years (sooner/later) - does it make sense to prepare a charging point for the EV at your renovation stage?

1. Three phase electricity
2. Wiring with outdoor EV charging/wiring ready
3. Buy EV
4. Use normally for minimum 3 months.
5. Use previous 3 months bill (must include EV charging) to apply solar
6. Install solar
7. Enjoy savings
Why this order:
Don't know how much energy you will use and how much solar to compensate. My friend did solar first, bought EV, now regret finding methods to add more panels/solar to cover EV cost...to the point want to install more panels>battery direct EV.
If Solar company allows any placement, then can reno+solar (max capacity) then buy EV. No need to use that 3 month previous average bill. Check NEM3.0 details and packages offered by companies. I use NEM2.0, and that time TNB subsidiary nak 3 months of bill to see capacity
