QUOTE(china_dude 02 @ Jun 1 2022, 08:11 PM) Whats the big idea with front loader? QUOTE Front-loaders do it best, because the tumbling motion puts gravity to work, knocking clothes against each other, scrubbing themselves against the abrasive elements in detergent, and against features of the drum or wash tub, all with more energy than the twisting motion of a top-loader can muster. It doest use complicated gears like top loader and the casting (heavy weight) keeps it sturdy with suspension arm supporting below. Simple design but efficient in cleaning. That's why it is pricer but can last long. Don't even need to service Mine still running fine since 2015. This post has been edited by bananajoe: Jun 1 2022, 08:15 PM

Getting Started

|
I have a LG 10KG 6 motion washer (WF-HD100WM) (Top Load and a DDM type) and used it for 7.5 years then the lid-lock issue cause it to not be able to retain water. Was quoted by one of LG service center around RM275 to fix it. I think 7.5 years isn't bad. The price was around 1.5K back then. But when I tried to look LG washer again, and the price now is around 2K and above for such capacity. It has increased quite a lot and the built does not look as good as my old LG unit. Also my old unit has more features and function than these new ones. Inflation is crazy!
A sales person at Lionmas highly recommended to me a Haier 12kg washer with DDM and inverter (HWM120-M1990DD). The price is around 1.8K. It does look kinda fancy but it's a phased out unit as it has been replaced by a new version of it. I was initially tempted because of the price and the DDM inverter plus the 5 Energy Rating. What held me back was my bad experience with China brand - I have a Midea AC before and it broke down by 2nd year.
I think Toshiba (AW-DUK1300KM) 12kg inverter is a good option and better bet @ RM1650. 2 years general warranty, 3 years PCB and 10 years motor.
