i would try opening the power brick to see if the capacitors need replacing. heard of xb1 power bricks having their capacitors bulging even though we are years away from the capacitor plague era.

saves you money if you do it yourself and you get to keep the original hardware with improved components. i don't trust game shops as they might use cheap components or steal the parts and return a low quality replacement to you.
if you want the best, you can replace them with polymer capacitors. you can get them from element14.
