If I am a Bangala or Pakistani or Arab, would they say no?? It is always better to have a meetup, viewing and then mutually decide... not to ask for race and religion upfront.. not fair IMO

This is indeed an open forum. Since you openly declared your disdain for questions on race/religion but don't mind question on nationality, it naturally piqued my interest.

How would you feel if you were a Bangladeshi/African looking to rent a property and agents asked about your nationality?

In Malaysia we have 3 races namely and If I am non-chinese, I wont get the house for rent mostly from a chinese landlord. Asking if I am a Malaysian or non-Malaysian doesnt make me feel weird. If asked about my religion and race, yes !! thats racism

Well I've encountered a landlord who prefer to rent house to certain religion only.. aku pung heran, kena samak the while house ker if not same religion. Not like I want to rent a room only with different race of roommates. Well their property dia punya suka lo, same as if we dun like how the landlord behave we dun rent their property lo.

thats why as a landlord if i want to advertise to multiple race i will get multiple agent

one property got 5-6 agent

no issue one. they only get paid when got comission


that way u will eventually get a bunch of agent contacts who are all hardworking, those lazy one u dont need advertise with them again

Yes, even certain skin coloured foreigners get the shit stick. Also mixed heritage Malaysians because they don't believe due to looks alone.
What's the difference from asking about nationality and deciding not to rent if doesn't fit the "good" profile?
