Recently join an MNC at KLCC area, they are one of the top 10 players in their industry. The role is mostly in management with little to no technical implementation. Not sure I’ll like it but no harm trying.

Im just an average Joe that is jumping around. Recently the semicon industry is quite hot, those that excel should be making a lot more than me.

What do you guys think should be the way to negotiate salary with your new company?

I am jumping to a company that has a reduction of 10 days AL compared to before, lower epf employer contribution, lower medical.

Should I ask for 30% of my basic and fix allowance or take into consideration the AL and epf contribution as well?

I am thinking of asking for 40% but due to the company being a little cost efficient I am worried of losing the job opportunity.

Should I take this offer? Is AVP average salary usually this low?

Imo quality of life in myr with your salary trumps sg 13k.

1) rental is expensive in sg. Additionally the downpayment for a new place is crazy assuming you going for private projects with a 30% downpayment iinm. Meaning, you are nowhere close to owning a home for the next few years on top of paying rental.

2) if you are childless, yes public transportation is ok. But imaging having a baby/toddler and going to buy groceries? Not easy.

3) you didn take into account your wife who if working will most likely need to find a role there as well. If your wife has income here, you will have even better disposable income.

With your salary here you can easily buy your own place instead of renting along with 2 cars at 2k installment a month.

I want to ask..why do people keep their salary a secret, I know from non family, from friendds I can see, but this even from siblings still wanna keeep it a secret? why aa, haha
