Your job title sounds like you would be doing data engineering/science so that was my guess. If you like looking at data maybe can delve deeper into AI/ML.

My lecturer once said along the lines that if you take masters without aim is like learning to make pineapple pizza when you actually like chicken pizza.

I think is good choice to take up ML as a lot of analyst job posting mentions this. I might not be the best to ask for this as I'm not too different from you in experience and ML is way too big of a field but I feel we should only be looking at "pro certs"  by MS/Google/IBM when you have a workflow depending on it, or you know you can leverage the technology. At the core they are offering APIs that speed up the general ML workflow.

I've did a lot ML courses and they're all very similar (teaching the workflow), which leads me to believe we just have to practice as there's too many algorithms or techniques to be taught in courses. Maybe you can start with those general courses then work your way up to Azure/Google ...etc because I think these would make you "professionally certified" as you can leverage large scale AI in the cloud. Then maybe masters, because ML papers are mostly about implementing algo X on problem Y which is so specific.

There's some courses offered by big names like Standford or Google, you can look, but I think you can see from this list. They're more or less about the same things.
