Good finisher based on his past season. Definitely requires a supply line.
With Matic, Pogba, Lingard and perhaps Mata leaving.....I would say we do not currently have a midfield. biggrin.gif

That’s why ETH is chasing FDJ 😅

Mata leaving MU

Quite sad, I really want him to stay at least another season, I believe he suit for ETH’s system.

Wish him all the best, he still can perform at La Liga at least for another 2 seasons

No to Levy, that guy already slash our neck few times but those investments were paid off. Carrick, Berbatov, I think the cheapest was Sheringham but that time still considered expensive but with current financial situation, no considering we need to buy players for few areas, 1 son already used or overused our budget

🚨 Xavi has spoken with Frenkie De Jong and explained that his possible departure would be conditioned by the economic situation.

He also explained that the board was not particularly happy with his performances. #MUFC 🔴

FDJ become scapegoat already, if Murtough or Arnold are smart, press the price down

Let’s talk about Mata’s career with us:

1. Joined us during second half season 2014. Still remembered he arrived by helicopter! What a grand arrival during Moyes time. 15 games, 6 goals, 5 assists. No a bad start for Mata, his Chelsea’s form able to replicate 70-80%

2. During 2 years LVG era, that was the time Mata treated as starting 11 but not the position that he fit. Best moment during LVG era I think was 2014 vs Liverpool away (we won 2-1) and he scored 2 goals (Herrera and ADM assists), one of it was the epic volley.

14/15: 35 games, 10 goals, 4 assists
15/16: 50 games, 7 goals, 10 assists

3. Another epic moment during FA Cup final, after Pardew’s famous dance, he equalised and eventually that night he won his first trophy with us.

4. When Mourinho arrived, many think he will get sold again by Mourinho (cuz Mou sold him to MU), but Mata changed his style of play to fit Mourinho’s style. 2 years during Mourinho’s time, he slowly become a rotation right winger and his average playing time was around 2500 min+-

5. And during Mourinho’s time, he won mini treble (double if exclude that community shield), both league cup and Europa cup final he was featured. League Cup vs Southampton he was subbed out after half time and Europa Cup he played until 89 mins. Europa Cup final vs Ajax was the epic Mourinho’s style of play, the same we seen last week? When Roma won the Euro Conference Cup.

6. Season 18/19, during Mourinho’s final half season, Mata still a regular starter, after Mourinho get sacked, then….. no more then. Ole’s time Mata was totally get frozen. Still remembered there was one match 2020 Carabao Cup vs Brighton we won 3-0, Mata score 1, assist 1 and get MoTM, the same match VDB also played his one of his best match in his MU career, what happened next game vs Spurs, back to bench and we lost 6-1

So if we looked back, he still enjoying minutes during Moyes, LVG and Mourinho’s times but nowhere to be seen during Ole’s time

I remember that match. VDB and Mata really have great understanding and were brilliant only to be overlooked again in the next match for Ole’s trusted 11. With Ole there is like a script. Every game is the same starters, same subs, etc
*
Yup, so overall Mata’s career was actually not badly treated from Moyes to Mourinho but really got given chances during Ole’s time. Yes Moyes to Mourinho he was not played in his best position but at least he was given chances.

Constantly being available for a pass alone is better than McT LOL

Hope we do get him, but i wonder how will we play if he is the only midfielder we do get, Bruno De Jong Fred?
*
McTom can’t dictate the pass, his vision quite poor, the moment he received the ball his head will be down and next side pass or someone near him, he don’t have the vision like Matic or Pogba who already scan thru the field and know where to throw the pass when they received the ball

Here's an important date. 27th June.
That is when our pre-season starts. ETH should have most of his players for the start of pre season in order to get his ideas translated.

So I'm looking at the transfer negotiation team and it's not looking encouraging.
*
Our 3 major transfer targets;

Nunez, timber cool off

FDJ, Barca want 70M, we offered 60M

Eriksen as alternative, no further report on that

I also worry ended up we get no one and start pre season with much more thinner squad

Eriksen is a good squad player. I don’t like to see Bruno playing 50++ matches without get rested, don’t want to repeat how Ole squeeze until the very last drop of him until he get burnt out and drop of form, this is where Eriksen is needed.

Nunez, Liverpool step into the race. See if he wanted to join a rebuilding team without any major trophy or join an established team and straight can challenge multiple trophies.

Same as FDJ, he is now force to leave Barca in which he doesn’t want to, and rumours Pep now also wanted to kacau. Again, if the rumour is true, between a rebuilding team and a league winner team plus challenging UCL, the choice is also pretty obvious but ETH’s sentiment is playing major part

And…. ETH already went off for holiday. So now if on Murtough to do all the final nego which I think… don’t have high hopes

So pre season possible line up and maybe new season

GK: DDG
LB: Telles/Shaw
CB: Maguire, Lindelof
RB: Dalot
CM: McTom
CM: Fred
LW: Sacho
AMC: Bruno
RW: Elanga
FW: CR7

Bench: Dean, Jones, Bailly, Perreira, Garner, Hannibal, Ganancho, Rashford, Martial, Amad, Pellestri, Williams, AWB

Liverpool already enter the race for Nunez, 80 + add on 100M package

Well, one team is rebuilding and don’t expect anything for next 2 - 3 years, the other team is replacing Mane on the current title and trophy challenge team, it’s pretty obvious isn’t it?

Update transfer targets again:

1. Timber - he no rush to join us, he was considering if he can’t fit into EPL, his national squad will be in cold water considering WC is just 7 months away.

2. FDJ - Barca wants money to buy Lewan, he wanted to stay but his performance at Barca was so so cuz he always played out of position, he was a DLP but the place was occupied by Busquet. Joining us will be guaranteed him his natural position cuz ETH knows best. Market rates him 50M+ but we overpaid him around 60M+, a bit pricy but that’s ETH major target, so have believe in our manager… again

3. Nunez - both Liverpool and us wanting him, just minus Newcastle. Liverpool are planning the life without Mane and possible Salah for another season if he doesn’t want to sign contract, we on the other hand seriously lacking a striker who can share Ronaldo’s burdens. Again, Liverpool will title contender for all the major trophies vs us nothing but aiming too 4.

4. Bastoni - we suddenly linking to him as he also another left footed dc that we want. We all know Italian clubs have tight cash flow and Inter wanted money to re-sign Lukaku. As a dc, he has average 2 to 3 assists for the past 3 seasons with Chellini retired from Italy squad, he will be the next Italy dc for many years. The problem now is.. Conte wants him. Conte was his coach during his days with Inter and Spurs can offer him UCL games. Conte’s factor already good enough for him to join Spurs if he wants

🗞 Jorge Mendes is having a meeting with Erik ten Hag in Portugal as #mufc try to steal Darwin Núñez from Liverpool - he wants to play in the #UCL, next hours will be decisive. [Pedro Sepulveda]🥈

Wtf we still chasing for him? I don’t think he worth 80M

Jorge Mendes is using the same trick again to force us bid for higher price just like how Ronaldo’s saga last year

Nunez situation, either we:

1. Really want him
2. Fall for the same trick by Jorge Mendez (Using City to bait us to sign Ronaldo)
3. Smoke screen, cuz Neves is under Jorge Mendez if not mistaken

As for below:
midfielder
- dejong - high chances as he can play his comfort role (DLP) under ETH
- neves - possible since report saying ETH discuss with Mendez, he is under Mendez
- ndidi - low
- bissouma - low
- tielemans - Arsenal prime target
- casemiro? won all with rm and rm signed a new dm...- low
- kalvin philips - city interested (low also)

two of these + ericsen is good reinforcement for me

cb
- timber - he prefer to stay cuz of WC squad
- pau torres - another target
- kounde - no
- tomori - no
- de ligt - not looking to join - no

Nunez 80M + 20M add on, 250k per week, this round we make Pool break their bank on this transfer. 250k per week for unproven kid really a big risk but he can be straight replacing Mane
