QUOTE(sunami @ Apr 5 2022, 02:42 PM) repair on wear and tear? or? Not sure if its wear and tear problems. But it started with the electric window problem. next engine mount which started to create a noisy engine. gear box started to give problems on the 2nd year of my buying. Then arm bushing the rubbers.. this i think maybe wear and tear cos rubber will harden and break over time.

QUOTE(bcy750 @ Apr 5 2022, 12:41 PM) Indeed, I considered Lexus also, but the entry level SUV (UX model) looks small compared to CRV/Harrier. Unless go higher range (NX model), but the price start from RM300k and above. Hence, I dropped Lexus in my comparison list. I did survey BMW X1 and Mercedes GLA too, but both models also looks small for me, width/length/height all smaller compared CRV/Harrier. To get the same size at the same 200K range, you have to look at recon or 2nd hand. If you are concerned about a used car, maybe you can consider BMW's premium selection and Volvo's Selekt. Find those cars that is about 1years old, less than 10k mileage, have the same 5 years warranty / service package (you still got the balance 4 years)...

Outlook of Harrier is stunning But the interior really disappointing
Ever consider the new Kia Carnival? Though it's a MPV, but many car reviewer mentioned it drives like a SUV

SST exemption is based on registration date, not booking date. Hence, you may already be too late for a lot of popular brands and models.
Harrier has a few positives but it is still very difficult to justify that price. Furthermore, a lot of websites and content creators mentioned it is sold out.
CRV is the better choice but if you said you could have spent additional 100k, why not screw the SST exemption and wait for new gen CRV 2023?

QUOTE(bcy750 @ Apr 5 2022, 09:59 AM) If the price and maintenance cost not a major concerns, would you rather to save the RM100k and to spend it on other purposes (e.g. bring whole family for overseas vacation) and just buy the CRV. Or you would prefer putting the additional RM100k and get the Harrier? For me, CRV is definitely more value for money, however, Harrier looks so elegant. Hard to decide. By the way, I am now driving a 9 years old Altis. I would get a Toyota RAV4 instead. The CR-V is good if your number 1 priority is space, it definitely has lots of it and very usable too. I can't think of anything else that's good that could be said about it. The Harrier with the turbo was a good one but seems to have been discontinued. Definitely more refined, better fit and finish and a nice one to own.

Read some articles mentioning new CRV is likely to be launched early next year in some of the overseas markets, but not sure how soon they will bring it in to Malaysia. Possibly need to wait for at least 1.5 to 2 years. Haha.

will either go for CRV or Forester if i am getting a Japanese SUV.
not that the Harrier is bad, i just could not appreciate the new design, its totally different from the bold and muscular 1st gen 2nd gen Harrier.

After saving that RM100k, you wont spend it on a holiday. =)
Anyways, CRV is poorly made, the Harrier is much better.
But, everybody buys something according to budget.
If your budget is RM240k, then look at only those +- that range, looking at others will not make your life easier.
You could also say, buy X70 better, save that 150k, go holiday with family

QUOTE(bcy750 @ Apr 6 2022, 02:17 PM) Haha. Think you understand me. VW Tiguan or Arteon might be something you wanna check it out. VW high spec(rm220k) with more than 220 hp or VW normal spec(rm175k) >150hp that allows you to save some dough if you want. likely to enjoy SST rebate too.
