most brands are possible guys.
a bluetooth is a bluetooth although there would be times when the ps3 cant detect certain older models. as in real old models.

Hi all,

I recently purchased a rm 120 bluettoth headset and eagerly wanted to try it out on uncharted 2's multiplayer. But i have encountered some problems. Of first of all, i have a hunch that its my wireless connection im using, thats causing me the probs but im not 100% sure on it.

1)There's a lot of static when i speak. Like when i say something,my words will be accompanied by background "shhhhhhhhhhhh" sound.

2)I stopped being able to listen to what my other friends are saying when i have my headset on. Under the audio device settings in my ps3,i set it so that the output device is my tv.

Can anyone shed some light on my issue here? I think it could be that :
a)i didnt set up the mic properly
b) im using crappy wireless connection
or
c)my mic is crap.

probably the mic's fault.
or try going into the mic settings and tone down the mic volume(there's a specific option solely for mic volume)

dont.
set the output to your mic instead.
problem when you set it to your tv is that you will have to raise the volume of your tv, there by increasing your chances of the mic picking up the tv's sound, which would probably cause interference with the mic.
since your mic already has a built in speaker, set the output to your mic.

Hi,

I am using the Sony PS3 bluetooth headset, just got it.
I tried using it, but noticed that my mic will pick up the game sounds from the game I play (coming from my tv speakers), so I will almost constantly transmit. Anyone know how to avoid this?
Do you have the same problem?

I tried to go to settings, but could only set my mic volume to Off or 3 or the highest, the options 1, 2 and between 3 and highest was not possible to set?

I tried using it, but noticed that my mic will pick up the game sounds from the game I play (coming from my tv speakers), so I will almost constantly transmit. Anyone know how to avoid this?
Do you have the same problem?

I tried to go to settings, but could only set my mic volume to Off or 3 or the highest, the options 1, 2 and between 3 and highest was not possible to set?

im using the Sony PS3 bluetooth headset, its an awesome mic for the console, the mic is pick up the slightest sound, even when ur breathing. so i recommended

Oh yeah, I am more than happy to know that my stereo bluetooth headset is working with my PS3..without a problem. So, besides using it for games, i use it to pick up calls from my phone.. And, the best part is I can use it with my netbook or cellphone to listen to mp3 songs in stereo and full bass; Wirelessly.. Oh by the way, you can change the headpiece according to your liking. SE, I love you. For just RM150, it's irresistible. Google HBH-DS200. Pure Awesomeness. Old model nevertheless.

I'm considering to get one, but if I keep transmitting when playing it's going to be annoying. How do u get around this? keep muting and unmuting?

Hey guys, what games will suck without mic/headset?

Ok maybe not suck, but what games do you guys think will will have a dramatic improvement in experience if a mic is used during online play.

One obvious game I can think of is MAG, which some would argue is ESSENTIAL to be played with a mic.

But for me I only played the BETA so the one game that I can think of that needs a mic badly is Fat Princess. I really screamed at the tv when my team is so uncoordinated while the other team is pwning us, and it's SO obvious that the other team is using mic, or maybe I just can't admit that I'm still not too good at it. Haha, anyway, thanks to Fat Princess I just ordered a bluetooth headset.

But what do you guys think? Any other games out there that justifies forking out extra cash to buy a headset for?

Im using Sony DR-BT100CX. Awesome automatic transition pairing from handphone to PS3

Of course I would have liked it even better if game audio can be channeled in as well instead of just voice.

Lately I haven't been able to chat through my PS3 Headset(Official). Usually, I'll hear a very weird loud and annoying sound. If I were to describe it in words, the sound is something like "chhkkk chkkk chkkk chkkk.........chkkk chkkk chkkk chkkk".

It seems to happen no matter who it is I'm trying to talk to. Of the people I know personally, my uncle uses a non-official headset and we can't hear each other. My friend uses an official headset and we can't hear each other either. Anyone know what's the cause of this? It started about a week ago I think..

Tried both, still not working with PS3.

Working with phone.

Update: I just noticed when I turned my headset off, that weird noise comes out from the TV speakers. This has led me to believe it's not a problem with my headset but something else. Others have also heard the noise for example my friend who's using the official headset. I've only been using the headset on FIFA the past week, could it possibly be a problem with the game??

Yeah I know what you mean. I havent used my official headset recently but when we were playing Fifa11 last friday night, I could only here the cchhk chhk cchhk sound you were describing from the opposing team(all three of them had headsets). Have you tried using it with a game other than Fifa 11?

Exactly, I've been getting this sound from everyone actually :/ Haven't tried with other games yet. I'll try with Modern Warfare but it isn't easy finding someone with a headset :/

Have you only tried it with FIFA? Does it work then once you restart your PS3? D:

About to try a video chat with my uncle using the headset as sound input/output. I'll report back. I have a very strong feeling it's FIFA that's the problem vmad.gif

Apparently, it's a problem with FIFA. To get the headset to work, you have to turn it on BEFORE you start up FIFA, it'll work if you do this (:

Still a stupid problem though and should be fixed! vmad.gif

Exactly, that's the problem. The headset has to be turned on before the game is started or it won't work. You dc-ed it while the game was turned on and then reconnected it while the game was on hence the problem.

It depends on personal preference really. My uncle just bought a third party Giotech headset today. I believe sound quality is rougly the same. You do get few more features with the official headset though. On the other hand, the third party is cheaper. My uncle got it for RM115 together with 'Real Triggers' and a HDMI cable. The official I got for RM145. I prefer the official because I feel it blends it better with the PS3 since it has the same external colour and finish. All down to personal preference wink.gif

Yeap, this says it all (:

I especially like the on-screen indicator. Much easier to see the charge level, volume or if it's muted. I also find the official headset pretty comfortable.

Guys, thread doesn't seem alive?

Well, how do I know if my Bluetooth headset is not compatible?

I paired up my Jabra Halo and could not hear anything! Except at the Chat Audio setting, I can hear my Audio Input and its output which is on my Jabra Halo.

But that's it! I couldn't hear any in game sounds or the XMB menu.

Does this mean it is not compatible?
