Hi guys,

I am still on 30Mbps Super Value YEP 2019 with Ultimate pack, paying RM149 every month. What's the current SWU now suitable, looking for speed upgrade.

Thanks

Regarding your question, maybe you can go to the nearby TMpoint to find out more about SWU. Or call 100 and select the fourth option regarding plans and promotions.
*
Rang 100 and is given one option to upgrade to 100Mbps with a new Unifi box and maintain Ultimate pack for additional RM10 i.e. Rm159 monthly.

Unifi box will be couriered for free, otherwise if TM technician installs it there will be RM80 one time charge in the next bill.

Not worth it unless you really need the Unifi TV.
*
With Ultimate, I hardly watch anything but Disney+ Hotstar is a bonus. Aside, I have Netflix subscription

Astro Fibre is also another option. But knowing Astro, customer services is no better than TM.

Just to trying to workaround which combo will be the cheapest:

100Mbps broadband, Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar. Plus Astro Ria is a nice to have.

Will be visiting TM Point today to try my luck with SWU. On 30Mbps, no more contract since last year. Hoping to get 300Mbps for RM129.

Pardon my ignorance, can someone tell me what is the SWU package?

Google for staywithunifi and you will find a link to its official TNC pdf.

do update us on how it goes  thumbup.gif

was planning to try and get the swu plan as well since my contract for 30mbps ended last month
*
Placed the order request with TM Point earlier.

Got the 300Mbps for RM129 broadband only and keep the landline. no bundled minutes or tv pack. try to haggle to include both but no success.

bye2 Ultimate pack which I rarely switched on except for normal FTA channels.

QUOTE(sinnlig @ Jun 7 2022, 04:37 PM)
TM says SWU only for 100mbps @99 and 300mbps @129.
Don't have 800mbps etc. I'm waiting for them to call me.
*
It seems that they are doing SWU Phase 2 now, I just missed Phase 1 of more valued plans (assumingly part of the Turbo upgrade).

From my visit earlier today, I saw the CS referred to a piece of paper outlining the plans available for SWU.

Basic SWU (Just Broadband)

800 mbps - RM 269
500 mbps - RM 199
300 mbps - RM 129
100 mbps - RM 99 or RM 119
*
that's about right as per the internal pricing sheet I saw yesterday.

still awaiting for mine to be activated as they were unable to update my account yesterday, pending HQ approval.

Update:

Managed to get the SWU package 300mbps @ 129

Had to walk in to TM Point.

I received a call from TM this morning but for some reason the guy don't wanna offer me SWU. So I went to TM Point since free today.

At TM Point they will try to shoo you away lol. So you must stand your ground and request for SWU package upgrade. They will say it's only offered to customers requesting to change to Maxis. So if they say that, u just say yes u considering changing to Maxis.

They say under SWU only got 300mbps @ 129. Higher speed don't have. Only got 500mbps @ 199, 800mbps @ 269 (or 259 can't remember).

The staff told me those who got 159/169/179 for 800mbps is because of their old package, they were paying this price for higher speed back then or something like that that's why they got 800mbps upgrade.

Anyway, they're confirmed my upgrade to 300mbps at 129. TM technician will come to my house to install new router but they told me to just reject the router or keep it since I don't need it. Speed will come into effect on the day they come to install that new router.
*
I was lucky for having dealt with a friendly staff and did not ask much. In fact, he did advise the 300Mbps at RM129 is the best deal.

The technician is coming today to replace the router, do you know which router they will be giving to fibre customers these days?

The existing one is TP-Link Archer C2000 which I turned off the wireless and connect Mesh M4 instead for wi-fi connections.

Yeah the staff did mention to me the router, iirc it's RJ6? Or RG6? Congrats haha, mine's coming tomorrow morning.
*
If it's a Wi-Fi 6 router, would I still better off continue using my Deco M4 (Wi-Fi 5) as AP? At least the coverage around the house is good with Deco M4.

QUOTE(christina1 @ Jun 9 2022, 11:20 AM)
After contract expire price will be the same RM 129 for 300Mbps ?
*
I would assume the price RM129 is permanent until you change to a different plan in the future.

Now 300Mbps package no longer come with any other entertainment package, at least for me.
My bill just internet services RM199 less RM70 with free calls (not sure limited calls time or unlimited)
*
Yep broadband only for me too and get to keep the phone line. Free minutes are no more though.

I tried to keep the bundled minutes to which no success. 600 minutes bundles (STD20) will cost additional RM20.

Same here, I went to tm this morning and wanted to change to maxis bcos maxis gave me RM149, and free 6 months monthly fee.
I told him this is the offer that maxis gave me, but TM staff gave me a better offer, that is 300Mbps rm129 per month, plus 6 months free monthly fee
*
That's nice to have 6 months free. I couldn't do a transfer to Maxis as they were not able to see any free port. Otherwise, I would have tried to get the free fees thou.

my account had been suspended couple of times in the past due to late payment, just one month behind.

despite the credit limit around RM800, the overdue amount is less than RM200. they still suspended my account for late payment.

Sadly no, it will just use normal internet to load it

I suggest considering also Mecool KM2, Nvidia Shield TV Pro (expensive) or Google Chromecast with Google TV
I myself am using the Mecool KM2, which is actually a rebranded Skyworth LEAP-S1
TM actually rebranded the same box for their 1st gen android tv box, but with a much more locked down firmware + no microsd slot
Personally I avoid stick/dongle style ones due to overheating concerns.
*
just wanted the Unifi TV so I got the Mi TV 4K stick... download the app and it runs well.

but sometimes it does lag, probably due to the network or internet connection.
