I've been using Unifi since 2018, no discount eligible in latest bill, wth man, TM is the most bias company i've ever seen
*
Yours is the turbo upgrade right? The one that introduced during gobind era.

Mine is turbo 500mbps + Ruby. RM 189.75. Contract ended since 2 years ago. Planned to change plan, but none of them are worthy.

If I change to swu, rm199+ no unifi tv. If I choose extraordinary plan, rm249+ wifi router+ ultimate unifi tv + Disney hotstar blah blah blah which I don't need.

After consideration, I better stick to the current status and wait for better offer next year.

I used their service since dial up era. Then streamyx. Then unifi. As a loyal customer, I gain nothing from the current offers and discounts.

Speaking of being fair to all users, ya. In your dream.

They even are being discriminate in their so called promotion/offer.

For example, their latest Unifi TV Ultimate pack promo.

https://unifi.com.my/tv/plans/ultimate-pack

RM49.90 per month. Sounds good right? Wait. read the TnC first.

https://unifi.com.my/tv/sites/default/files...-1sept22_v5.pdf

QUOTE
From TnC

No.5

Who is eligible for this Ultimate Pack Promo campaign offerings?

The offer applies to the below eligible subscribers:
1. 100Mbps and below
a) New customers can add-on either one of the Ultimate
Pack RM49.90 or RM59.90 offering to their
subscription
b) Existing customers can add-on/upgrade to Ultimate
Pack RM49.90 or RM59.90 offering to their
subscription
2. 300Mbps and above bundled with entertainment
a) New customers will get to enjoy Ultimate Pack
RM59.90 included as part of their unifi Home
subscription (no additional charges)
b) Existing customers can upgrade to the new 300Mbps
and above plan with contract renewal to enjoy
Ultimate Pack RM59.90 included as part of their unifi
Home subscription

Apparently, the cheaper pack RM49.90 is only available to 100Mbps and below customers. The 300Mbps and above customers can only choose the RM59.90 pack. Also, if the 300Mbps and above customers want to get this new Ultimate pack, they have to upgrade their internet plan as well. What the hell!? Why the advanced users cannot choose the cheaper package? Somemore they have to upgrade their plan as well in order to get this so called "promotion". Does TM think that all advance users are super rich and don't mind to pay extra?

At first I thought I would consider this new promotion. After reading the TnC, I changed my mind.

After so many years, TM doesn't change at all. Still a bloodsucker.

Confused about this. Is the new RM59.90 package same as the RM60 Ultimate package that some of use already have?
*
Yes it is. The problem in here is that now they have promotion where the customers can choose cheaper option which is lesser streaming apps compared to the full package. The price is RM49. 90.

HOWEVER! This cheaper option only available to 100Mbps and below users. Genius right? Of course. Business is business. I understand that they want to get as much as profit they can. But the way they do it is lame and stupid.

confusing. so as a SWU 2.0 subscribers 300Mbps Unifi only - I need to pay RM49.90 or RM59.90 for Ultimate pack add-on?
*
RM49.90 is only for 100Mbps or lesser subscribers.

If you want to stick to 300Mbps plan, You will need to pay RM59.90 for Ultimate pack, and you also need to upgrade your SWU 2.0 plan to the new extraordinary plan. They won't let you get that ultimate pack offer unless you upgrade your old internet plan (Turbo/YEP/SWU).

In short, if any exisitng customers who came from the Turbo/YEP/SWU plan, want to get the latest benefits and offers from Unifi, you will have to change to their latest extraordinary plan first.

After simple calculation, the extraordinary plan is more expensive for the old loyal customers (who came from Gobind-era). That's why most of us who subscribed to Unifi since years ago, choose to stay put.

For example in my case, my current Turbo plan is 500Mbps (RM149) + Ruby (RM30.00) + Tax 6% (RM10.75) = RM189.75.

I thought I could change the Ruby pack to the new Ultimate pack (RM49.90). Then my new total bill will be RM149 + RM49.90 + RM11.95 (6%tax) = RM210.85.

But no deal. They force me to upgrade to the extraordinary plan, either RM239 (Ultimate + 3 streaming apps) or RM249 (Ultimate + 6 streaming apps), if i want to stick to 500Mbps plan. Even if i want to ditch the Ruby pack and choose the broadband only plan, I still have to pay RM209.

In the end, I choose nothing. rolleyes.gif

I've currently got a unifi plan without any UnifiTV pack, just 100mbps internet only. Received this SMS yesterday. Will I actually get this unifi Plus Box for free?
"RM0 unifi: Get your FREE unifi Plus Box to experience extraordinary entertainment right at home! Learn more i.unifi.my/UpgradeNow . T&C apply"
*
I received this as well this morning. Try to look at the link. Got the word "upgrade". Based on my experience, you always need to upgrade something on your side before you can get the so called free offer. In short, there's no such thing as free when it comes to unifi.

For this case on here, my best guess is you need to subscribe the ultimate unifi tv pack (RM49.90) before you can get that "free" unifi plus box

Without details of tnc I was hesitant to sign up for a new contract of this free WiFi campaign. Afraid that it might affect my current plan of 300mbps+ultimate+voice @rm129 with  perpetual discount.
*
As I always said previously in this thread. There's no such free thing when it comes to Unifi. When they offer you something and claimed it's free, dont buy it. It sure comes with hidden TnC that they will only reveal after you agree to accept the offer.

Since last year, I got offers like free wifi router, free disney hotstar, free unifi tv plus, I rejected tham all. I will keep waiting until they offer me price reduction for my current package. LOL.

Currently using 500Mbps. If really free upgrade to 800Mbps or 1Gbps, I really dunno what do to with it. Need to upgrade the router, need to upgrade SSD storage, need to change this and that etc etc.

Haiya. Just give us another option to choose to get price discount cannot meh? Must die die upgrade the speed while not everyone "afford" to enjoy higher speed with limited setup.

oh what? You tell me to just downgrade to 300Mbps and wait for the free upgrade? Nope. The current new 300Mbps package is only slightly cheaper than my 500Mbps package (old package). So no point for me to downgrade. LOL

Yup. Happened to me this morning. But it's only a temporary disconnection. The connectton came back within 1 min. Didn't reset or did anything. Thought it's a small glitch. Never knew it's a global issue. Right now it's slow to access the router setting page. Other than that, everything run smooth.

Don't think so. I am using the ancient RT-AC1300UHP and it happened to mine too.

Problem solved. Turned out the culprit is the fibre optic cable. The cable is too old (more than 10 yrs), so the reading is too high. The line became unstable. It's still usable, but it would disconnected from time to time (causing LOS red blinking). Decided to change the cable. Now all is new and good.

QUOTE(Prissy Elf @ Jul 6 2023, 12:08 PM)
I have similar issue for the past month. Every night will lose internet connection between 9-10.30pm and regardless how many times I restart the modem/router, the line will sometimes come back for a few minutes before dropping again. If bad luck, it won't reconnect. Almost every day have to call TM to reset port. And they can't seem to find the problem. But day time connection is okay as my mom has no issues watching YouTube. Only happens at night.

Area: Taman Damai Impian 2 (Bandar Damai Perdana area)

Any possibility it's due to modem/router? TM say will change my modem because model quite old already. But have to renew 2 year contract. If issue persists after replacing and renewing contract, then I have to live with it for 2 years, paying RM200/mth to get shitty connection.  cry.gif

Based on your describe, most likely you also have the same problem. You should ask them send a technician to your house and check if your fibre optic cable reading is too high.

Aiks. My current 500mbps is 189.75 (+tax). It's turbo upgrade during gobind era. Of course the contract is already expired since long time ago. So I guess I don't need to request for SWU at all since there's no difference. Lol.

Hopefully the September new pricing can give me some good news. If no, then I will just stay put and won't change anything.
