QUOTE(myrancid @ Mar 15 2022, 06:55 AM) Probably placebo effect kot, don't think any website will have a visible difference in loading speed. At most you will see your video player bar move faster only. 300 Mbps also won't buffer for any video on youtube for example (except for routing issues etc. but that would affect 500 Mbps as well). And of course Steam downloads etc. is where you can really see the diff. |

QUOTE(petpenyubobo @ Mar 28 2022, 10:40 PM) The whole bad idea is that you're stuck for the entire 2 years without able to switch to a better ISP if you're dissatisfied with the service. I know it's differs for individual preferences. How often do you switch your broadband service anyway? I've had this line for 10 years already, multiple times extend contract for discount/promo purpose. This isn't the same as phone telco where you may want to switch regularly. So last week I found time to visit the TM office and request SWU discount for my RM139/300Mbps plan. No hassle, CS agent understood immediately (but still asked me whether I would like to up speed and/or do hypptv, both I said no need). They required technician to visit to 'check', technician was very friendly when I requested they don't change anything cos I'm happy with my 3rd-party router, they just gave me their Fiberhome router in a box for future use in case. Just checked unifi website doesn't show my plan yet, but I think should be no issue. So can save RM10.60 monthly at the cost of 2 more years contract (+ free router). wiraone liked this post

QUOTE(XeactorZ @ May 19 2022, 05:22 PM) What has been reported so far is RM129 (prior to 6% tax) for 300mbps. RM10 discount, for those who were on promo rate from before PH time.QUOTE(Yoooo @ May 19 2022, 05:37 PM) If contract expired, just walk in to TMPoint. Yoooo liked this post

QUOTE(martmax @ May 31 2022, 12:40 PM) With Ultimate, I hardly watch anything but Disney+ Hotstar is a bonus. Aside, I have Netflix subscription Hotstar is 54.9 for 3 month, less than RM20 a month. If that's all you watch, is ultimate worth it at 50 per month?Astro Fibre is also another option. But knowing Astro, customer services is no better than TM. Just to trying to workaround which combo will be the cheapest: 100Mbps broadband, Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar. Plus Astro Ria is a nice to have. |

QUOTE(sinnlig @ Jun 2 2022, 05:33 PM) Walk in to TM point, ask the CS about SWU promo. Ask what is the 300mbps price under SWU (without call, without STB/hypptv). If lucky you can get the RM129/300Mbps that some of us here have. No harm. |

QUOTE(MyProLife @ Jun 3 2022, 02:18 AM) the reason why you must go tm point is like that This is correct. What is easy for you they can also easily ignore. You physically at their shop harder to ignore.if you just call cs only, tm assume you WILL still with TM for long time, tm will milk you as long as you with them, so they will not offer something like SWU if you dare to go tm point AFTER contract expires, tm will assume you will move out to another provider. After all, you still MUST go to tm point to submit transfer request shall you really want to move out this is why they preemptively give you SWU offer once you AT tm point, even for first time |

QUOTE(kayroll @ Aug 16 2022, 08:36 AM) Is it possible to attach 2 router from 1 modem. Mine was old fiberhome onu and got extra old dlink 850 cylinder router. Sorry not an it person ya Attach one router WAN port to the modem (this one needs the unifi user/pass for connection). Attach the 2nd router WAN port to one of the LAN ports of the first router (not the unifi port). This 2nd one is just a router, meaning it doesn't dial in, it just shares out the connection from the 1st one.If confused, get a tech relative/friend to help you do, is quite easy. Just belanja them dinner. |

QUOTE(YoungMan @ Sep 17 2022, 10:49 AM) Not to say cannot. But most people already paying 129/159 for 500mbps or 800mbps. To get swu plan is not attractive anymore. 'Most' people got 50 and 80 for more than that. The standard was RM149 for 30 RM179 for 50, same price maintained for 300/500.In this thread we got some who manage to nego/get discounts from weird combinations of dropping hypptv etc. But definitely not 'most' people, because even RM139 for 300Mbps had lots of forumers complaining why they can't get.... |

QUOTE(MyProLife @ Nov 16 2022, 02:04 PM) https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/3075/ Any link/resource to learn more about enterprise AP (normally separate from router right?). I have software networkingn knowledge, but hardware very poor as my experience is with existing networks in various context."Tp link covering their a** because too many complaints about speed from deco nodes" All consumer mesh systems, including Deco nodes are designed solely for whole home coverage. Speed is not a guarantee because of physical limitations of wireless. Welcome to enterprise AP world (tp link omada, HPE aruba, ubiquiti) if you feel dissatisfied with any consumer mesh ("whole home system") |

QUOTE(coolguy99 @ Feb 3 2023, 06:22 AM) Vast majority of consumers won't use more than 30mbps even with multi-device. Heaviest bandwidth consumption (besides downloads) max at 5-8mbps for video or video calling per device.Having fixed broadband even at 30mbps is still a huge upgrade over FUP-constrained mobile broadband or even worse copper line internet. The purpose is to expand to more/most households, if you want higher speeds for some reason then its okay to pay for it, you're not the target market. QUOTE(Yoooo @ Feb 6 2023, 11:04 PM) Dear All, My experience - just walk in to TM center and ask, they will toss you one of the 'returned' adapters. Sometimes they will give you extra also, they have many sitting in some box there. Make sure to bring the ONU in so you can match it.My ONU power adapter is spoiled, currently is using another power adapter for it. Can I get a replacement power adapter from TM? Thank you.
