So if I upgrade from existing 2021 500Mbps bundle to now extraordinary 800Mbps, I will lose what is supposedly unlimited period of streaming apps?

From 13th July 2022 onwards, all new and existing Ultimate Pack at RM60 subscribers get to enjoy access to five (5) streaming apps included in the pack at no extra cost as below:

my sub is from oct2021, but in july 2022 they had exercise to switch everyone to disney+.
so, i was not included in that july 2022? (but i did change back then, apparently without "being included" confused.gif )

so if i am an existing subscriber (before sep2022), are the streaming apps i am currently enjoying also subjected to a silent "24mth FREE" just like those explicitly mentioned for sep22-nov2022 new subscribers?

so after 24mth will no longer be FREE?

so why is this important to me?
i am currently paying for viu and iqiyi on top of the FREE streaming apps for existing subscribers.
but those who came in sep2022-nov2022 will be getting those 2 as well for the same price i am already paying for.

that "24mth FREE" is a worrisome clause.
is my current is FREE indefinite as long as i pay? or is it also subject to silent "24mth FREE"?
if all being equal and just comparing unifi ultimate pack, "will it be worth staying on existing, or better by switchcing to current offer" line of thinking.

Click on website's "Upgrade Plan" and gets redirected to the offer page instead of just a dropdown list.
I just realised that the website is much more detailed than previous presentation and than what the mobile app's "Upgrade Plan" presented.

My current 500Mbps @ RM249 gets Hotstar + 3 streaming apps.
This 500Mbps @ RM249 gets Hotstar + 6 streaming apps.
Flips table.

If I want to upgrade and at least match back my current ultimate pack and mesh bundle,
it's actually RM329, not RM289 as previously presented.

just pay the additional RM11 on top of "old" RM60 ultimate and be done with the contract in 13mths.
then i'll chase for reduction in overall price there-and-then or fully switch to maxis as well.

(what are the odds of switching Site A' Unifi to Maxis, then transfer subscription to another existing Site B with existing Maxis subscription brows.gif )

yes, are those free indefinitely(?). aniq is clear that this is not the same ultimate that was before sep2022, which was equivalent to Hotstar + 3 apps. accepted the explanation from aniq. so now there are 3 levels of ultimate on the deck. that wasn't so hard to explain to me!

AND,
    oct2021 installation
  • broadband - 13/24 mth left
  • bundled Deco M9 Plus - supposedly linked to broadband
  • bundled Ultimate TV pack (Hotstar + 3) - 1/12 mth left (if not reset by the recent switch to Hotstar in mid of 2022)
  • Deco M4 add-on - 13/24 mth left
  • Deco M9 Plus add-on - 23/24 mth left
the TnC are otherwise very clear that additional add-ons are to continue as they are, no penalty.

as can be seen, switching the base broadband to a new 24mth is not an issue because the most recent add-on means i am already leashed anyway 😅; it's the potential penalty of switching that i have no visibility of. CS does not seem to get what I am asking.

yes, the switch is "easy" from our point of view. no dispute.

the thing is, IPv4 is now a precious commodity. The world is running out of IPv4 to allocate. So while TM do have random IPv4 pool it can assign to customers, it cannot help but need to administratively prioritise who to give it to. There is just enough to give unique IPv4 to each subscriber.

Those with 300Mbps and above gets it without needing to request right now. But lets say that if everyone move to 300Mbps and no one left with 100Mbps and below, then all of us who currently getting it no-question-asked might find ourselves having to go through the same procedure that you are now required to hop through.

TM had to institute harder procedure because - thanks to ktards and others - of abuse in requesting for it, without actually needing it. Previously all you need to do was to call and ask by saying "need public IP to access home CCTV" without actually owning any. It's like a badge of honor to be get assigned unique public IP. TM wisened up and realised the ruse after some time, so now it sounds like requiring hard proof.

Finally - a CS that understands my pain points.

You can see outright that the current Extraordinary offer matching our existing RM249 price have extra Lionsgate + iQiyi + Viu + Wifi6 mesh.
From yesterday's chat, CS confirmed that it is possible to move to RM249 extraordinary, but, can only do so via telemarketing 100,4 or via selfcare webform.

I do not know if it is possible to move to RM239 with only Lionsgate as difference; no iQiyi, no Viu, no Wifi6 mesh. We do have bundled M9 Plus so i am not sure if that also makes it a limitation to only be able to move to plan with Wifi6 mesh.
Also, TnC (not confirmed with CS) says for downgrade, must do via walk-in.

I am paying RM249 + RM5(Viu add-on) right now, so moving to the next RM249 appears to be the most sensible to save RM5 (🤭😅😂) ... maybe I shouldn't bother upgrading since this the case.

I had a cursory comparison of tv packs; seems the 73 channels in Ultimate pack are a merge of all the linguistic channels that are separated into Aneka/Varnam/Ruby.
I did thought about moving to next RM289 800Mbps and switch to Aneka tv pack, but haven't ratified with CS if it's possible without incurrent tv pack penalty.
If can switch Ultimate to any other tv pack without penalty, then i think it should also be possible to go for RM219 500Mbps w/ Aneka/Ruby/Varnam

i am no fan of sports.
if i am PM, sports-related ministry and departments will be my first mass wholesale casualty, no negotiation. wasting time and money when we have other urgent need for funds and administrative focus. sports shall be private-driven affair with no government support whatsoever.

naaj, i was contemplating - all else being equivalent - that i am now paying RM60 for bundled ultimate tv pack but only get
hotstar + 3 streaming apps
and having to pay for additional as add-on.

while the new RM60 ultimate pack on offer gets
hotstar + 6 streaming apps
including what i am otherwise having to pay as add-on.

I see... I missed that part, only saw Faq/Tnc say need to walk-in "to downgrade" without qualifying for in-contract/out-of-contract.

But still processing if I really want to go through this hassle after all, over saving rm5 viu add-on 😅🤭😮‍💨

i don't think switching ultimate to aneka is going to be allowed without repercussion....

CS said even if switch to extraordinary, i still need to subscribe those missing streaming apps separately on my own.

honestly, the longer i listened, the more i believe that the CS is so fixated on answering based on existing ultimate + 3 that she failed to listen that i want to switch plan with ultimate + 6.

as aniq said, better walk-in; chat (typed) they failed to understand, talk verbally on the phone also fail to understand what customer is asking about. no wonder pricing shiok sendiri all tone-deaf didn't suit what the market is noisy about..

for the nth time - i give up.

TnC says can move lateral or upgrade.

Telesales say cannot move lateral, must upgrade. Ask CS, "can". Ask another CS, "can-but". Ask another CS, "nope". Ask another CS, "can" again. Ask telesales again, "it's pointless".
