Anyone work in Oracle especially Oracle Cloud Infrastructure?
Their recruiter are reaching out to me at Linkedin and I joined for their interview.

Just wondering anyone got review about working environment over there?
Currently will be WFH and how is the culture there?

Glassdoor have some comment about no increment and bonus at all, is that true? confused.gif

rclxm9.gif Thanks first for any comments!

In my opinion, those would be the valid questions to check & confirm with recruiter directly.

thank you. noted and i will check with the recruiter about it.

but just wondering anyone work there or having relative working there can tell directly, you know if the recruiter maybe they know the “art of word” and they can bring me to garden haha

It's true. The only time you get salary adjustment is when your position changed or promoted. Have to nego with your manager.
I should know; worked there for 4 years.

Besides salary, everything else is quite nice, but Malaysia office benefit is lesser compared to other country's
*
are u able to share what is the other “good” thing over there?
i would like to see if those stuff able to compensate mentally for the bonus+increment haha..

it seems like no increment and bonus really a pain cry.gif

Last year kena offered a inside sales dept, they managed to match my current pay which is surprise to me because quite high for a sales position.

In the end still reject cause see all the comments from glassdor. Recruiter call from indon opis.
*
yep. glassdoor review is really bad therefore i seek for some advice here.
but i think it is true that no increment and bonus; unless.u get promoted.

Honestly if u wanna venture into cloud industry.... try brush up your skills in AWS, Azure or GCP and look for opportunities related to these instead

Oracle is nothing when it comes to cloud space

Ok if u wanna do some self study into cloud as a starting point... but you can do the same with AWS, Azure and GCP as well

Really the market share for Oracle cloud is insignificant at this moment. At most you are just gonna support / work with existing clients
*
i think so, supporting and provide consultation to existing customer only.

If client facing, one thing I really like is they give you company phone, they cover your bill as long as usage don't exceed or near quota. Free mobile data data everywhere, even when traveling overseas. Can use for personal calls and browsing as well.

Flex benefit for optical, dental, gym membership, medical checkup

Health and insurance extend to immediate family/spouse.

Flex working hours...esp when working from home. Sometimes just standby when the projects on hold.

Depending on the division you joined, there are always some old seafood that been in Oracle over 10/20 years so you get really experienced senior to help you if needed. Plus their knowledge base and articles are huge.
*
thank u for the very informative sharing.
finally something good with the company. else without those i also thinking why some ppl can be there for few years, i means every company have good and bad right .

thanks! will take this in consideration as well.

Everything needs to be *compliant*. Oracle damn paranoid about this. So dont worry about outdated system.

Depends on your luck, they will buy you a new laptop from appointed supplier or give you a spare from the colleague that just resigned LOL. Think you can request with your manager.

Phone and laptop can be changed every few years, when warranty expires.

Internal messaging tool using Slack. Zoom for remote meeting.

For my division I noticed, once you are familiar with your tasks, it can be very comfortable...you know the people and stuff, benefits are not bad, so you will think twice before jumping. Some people stay and work til retire, damn cushy and comfy job...
*
retirement scheme biggrin.gif
they must have gotten very good salary, no increment and bonus also can work till retire?

For WFH, you can ask the recruiter directly I am sure different position have different requirements. For company culture, maybe you can stop by their building and talk with a few employees there, or find people working there on LinkedIn and start making connections and talk with them.

will it be too random? i means if somebody just say hi to me in linkedin i might be shocked haha
