Will be getting Myvi 1.5X for my daughter soon.

Currently survey for these 195 50 R 16 size to replace the factory fitted 185 55 15 .

In my list for 195 50 R 16 tires are as below :-

i. Toyo Proxes TR1 - RM220/per piece
ii. Continental UC6 - RM250/per piece
iii. Continental CPC2 - RM235/per piece
iv. Toyo Proxes CR1 - RM210/per piece
v. Good Year Assurance Triplemax 2 - RM215/per piece
vi. Toyo Proxes R50 - RM240/per piece
vii. Michelin XM2+ - RM260/per piece
viii. Yokohama BluEarth ES - RM250/ per piece
ix. Falken Ziex ZE310R Ecorun - RM260/per piece

*Notes : Most are end 2021 / early 2022 stock. Among the above, i only experience of using CR1 SUV (235 55 19) which is quite good NVH and balance wet and dry performance

Priorities are good NVH and balance wet and dry performance.

Budget will be +- of RM250/per piece

Any recommendation beside the XM2+ which is my obvious choice ?

I think just get the 1.5AV version instead of 1.5X. Got reverse cam and ACC. Tires can change next time.

Can get a decent android player with reverse cameras for less than RM800... a decent 2 channel dash cam with ADAS and parking mode /hard wire for RM500 and gear up body kit for RM599 ... other feature in the AV not needed actually...

This will void warranty, which will costs you more in case you need to claim any warranties.

I think the best is to change to better tires next time when the OEM stock wears out. GY triplemax is already a decent tire for normal driving. Unless is silverstone powerbliz, then different story la.

When claim warranties, just put back the factory fitted equipment to the car....been doing that for more than 10 new cars owned by me without any issues. for the past 30 years.....😁😜

https://tiresize.com/comparison/

From 185/55/R15 to go up to 195/60/R16 overall is bigger +3% diameter which most professional tire shop will prefer not to reach or over this +-3% rule.

The most suitable is 195/45/R16 which the difference is -0.4% minor difference compare to +3%.

If want to talk about value : performance, Falken ZE310 is one of the balance tire in market

Its 195/50/16 and not 195/60/16 which is only 3% bigger or 0.7" bigger....could also use 205/45/16 which is only 1.3% bigger or abt 0.3" bigger but i don't like 45 series tires which might compromise comfort....

195/45/16 is quite an odd size and very difficult and limited stock to get...

If i want exact 23" diameter might as well maintain the original 185/55/15 and close this thread at the first place...

Further, if you need accurate speed reading , pls use GPS and not your speedometer right?

Asking the shop for Falken Ziex ZE310R Ecorun at RM260/per piece..got good review from Auto Motor und Sport 2021 & Auto Bild Allrad 2021 as a best tyres in its class...

Dont think so simple, your Myvi newer gen got ASA (ADAS) & VSC or not?
Bigger wheels do you think the effectiveness of the safety features got impact or not? whistling.gif
Do you know that any changes to tire diameter or suspension height, if follow correct method is need to recalibrate the ASA function.
Is not that simple for modern rides to just change the wheel size to bigger or smaller size too much without any impact.

https://www.instantwindscreens.com.au/you-s...as-calibration/

If dont care or dont have these safety features you might just do whatever you want, but my advice is try to minimize the tire size difference as much as possible.

I dont wanna dwell more details of the 3% differences of the diameter as if the driver of the vehicle will immediately die as the consequences of it....

i have quite a number of other vehicles which have more electronics than this myvi..

plus one or plus two of the tires sofar not having any serious issues at all to the vehicles as todate...

Anyway tq for your concern and as an adult i am well aware of all the consequences, and thank you again....peace

Hankook Ventus Prime3 (K125) is also very good. I'd say the only other tyre I'd go for in your list is the Continental CPC2.

Hi there,

Myvi is always good new car smile.gif

First of all, your tire prices are really cheap. I've used my website's price table and for me I found the following prices.

Kumho Ecsta PS31 195/50R16 245
Goodyear Assurance TripleMax 2 195/50R16 275
Continental UC6 195/50R16 290
Yokohama Advan Fleva V701 195/50R16 330
Michelin Energy XM2+ 195/50R16 357

The current XM2+ for your size cost RM 357 while you have been quoted RM 260. This is a bargain !

Even though is a 6++ month old tire, it does not really matter as its a summer tire & not a winter tire smile.gif

I have written quite a bit on XM2+ here and its the best tire in wet !

Based on your price list its a no brainer. If I were you, XM2+ will be the tire of choice smile.gif

195/55/R15 tires are more cheaper than equivalent 16 inch. Not to mention substantially more choices too.
