it was just an advice.
when teachers at school said, "Dont hit other people" ," Dont steal" doesnt mean u already hit someone or steal something.
its an advice.
nowadays a lot of agents.
if while going thru these agents, they promise you too good to be true stories, then's something wrong.
im telling you to be careful, im not accusing you of being shady.
why with all the negative thinking?
Ah, after rereading now I see what you mean. TQ for explaining the context, sorry for misunderstanding.
That was the whole point of this thread, just wanted more information before I decide to go with agencies.
From what I heard, runaway maids are rampant because of a shortage of maids. Good ones, retained with their employers while bad apples are in the market.
At least lately MY borders are opened up again. New influx of maids.

Might not be the same as your request but I can share mine. I send my baby over to Nanny's home.
1. How did you guys came across your nanny?
MIL's friend
2. How much are you guys paying her?
RM1200 1 on 1
3. What's the job scope - can she cook (plus clean) besides taking care of the kid?
Take care of baby only. Working days. 7AM-7:30PM
4. Can foreign maids be nannies as well, or this seldom happens
not sure
Note: just be prepared, the nanny's way of taking care of baby might be diff with us...and sometimes it's hard to say them because they may not be happy. Because I'm a new mother so I was very stressed initially, but afterwards ok edi.
There's FB group (Chinese words) that is all about mothers/confinement/ nannies, last saw the price for nanny who comes over to home is around RM4000. Stay in nannies are higher.
Wow, thanks for the info.
