My bmw comes with 5 years unlimited mileage warranty and 5 years free service till 100k km. How come yours 100k km only warranty

this friend of yours is either dumb as a rock or he bought the car dirt cheap (the latter which is very unlikely). assuming your friend bought the latest LCI version of it, manufactured around 2019, how can the mileage reasonably be 30k?

judging from how stupid your friend is, it's only natural he got "carrot chopped" by the mechanic for a 40k repair bill. BMWs of that era always stall the engine on one of the 2 issues; cylinder misfiring (in which case replacing a set of new spark plugs will fix the problem) or replacing one of the ECU board (not the main one) which you can still buy it from BMW.

in any event, the total costs of repair does not exceed 8k.
