Hi,

My bosch aquatak 110 does cannot operate like normal. Sounds like motorcycle when first time want to start, then quiet then that sound again. Usually if the pump is collecting water, it will collect (make a sound), until water level is full. Then only it will stop making a sound. Pass few years, when I stop using, but still on. It intermittently wants to start by itself.

I tried a a shorter hose and shorter pipe extension, still intermittent motorcycle starting sound. Ideas what is wrong? Can this be fixed?

Not sure maybe airlock. Have you tried running it without turning it on? Just press the trigger till a continuous stream flows without bubbles. Otherwise, make sure the Inlet is not cracked.

Motor sound.

Any oil leak at the bottom of the machine? Another way oil can leak is through the water that was sprayed out.

Most likely the gearbox is empty of oil. Open up and check. Not difficult, need screw driver to open the cover, and Allen key to open the gearbox.

Anybody considering wanting to buy Aquatak 110, I advise don't. Noisy and expensive. And 110 is not powerful enough to speed up your cleaning work especially on tough stains.

Had an old aquatak eco
The oil leaked and the internal thrust pin bearings was destroyed
The water wouldn't pressurized and it made a very noisy sound - as if something is being crunched inside

Tried to overhaul it myself, opening it up is a little tricky, had to use power tool to loosen some of the screw.
What I did - replaced the o-rings, clean the oil reservoir (lots of metal shavings inside) and replace the bearings. Took me quite some time to find the correct bearing size as those are not common, had to import from taobao.

After that it worked again but due to my poor skill, I accidentally damaged/stripped the placeholder for the screw and it kinda cracked the gearbox. Temporarily use epoxy to keep it in place. Currently still works but I guess it won't last long sweat.gif

Now looking at the next replacement - Nilfisk Core series
Anyone used this brand before? Seems quite popular in the european countries.

Was looking at karcher initially but it seems they don't make it as durable as before - lots of complains.

Following this thread to get suggestion as well. . Am eyeing for aquatak but not the 110. Plan to get 130/ 140... Didn't know some of you had issue with them.. Thought bosch will be reliable lol. Karcher also I read quite a number of complains with their unreliable and expensive parts.. Had 2 karcher vaccum and both also didn't last so no karcher for me..

I personally believe pressure washer are not as good as how they were built back then - probably due to cost savings, using plastics to replace metals etc
And the quoted max pump pressure is no longer a good indication of how powerful they are unlike back then where Max pump pressure and working pump pressure only will differ by 10 bar at most

Most website will only show "Max pump pressure" but they will never ever show the "working pump pressure"
In fact, the "working pump pressure" is the actual performance of the pressure washer
To look for working pump pressure, one have to dig into their user manual

Eg, aquatak 120i (a old bosch model from 10 years ago i believe) has a quoted max pressure of 120 bar and a working pressure of 110 bar
(aquatak 120i user manual link - https://data.e-manual.eu/en/preview-manual-...i/page-13.html)

Another eg, my old aquatak eco - max pressure is 100 bar, working pressure is 90 bar
(Aquatak eco user manual - https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1134556/B...?page=14#manual )

Recent models such as universal aquatak 130 has a quoted max pressure of 130 bar, you would think that it will be more powerful than the old aquatak 120i.
But if you dig deep into the technical data section of the user manual, it has a working pressure of 90 bar only.
(universal aquatak manual - https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1338537/B...?page=15#manual )

Same goes for Karcher K4 basic as well
Max pump pressure is 130 bar but working pressure is only 110 bar
K4 basic manual - https://s1.kaercher-media.com/documents/man...5458-000-00.pdf page 14 for technical info

What do you guys think?

If you're a DIY person, then can. Fortunately Aquatak 110 internal parts can be easily found on Lazada or shopee. Maybe it's an indication that the machine frequently breaks down πŸ˜…

YouTube has many videos about how to open and fix Aquatak 110

I'm still searching for my next pressure washer.. meanwhile, I'll continue trashing my Aquatak 110.

My criteria
1. Must be induction motor
2. Able to use more than 1 hour nonstop
3. Must cost more than RM 500
4. Internal spare parts must be found online
5. Not too noisy
6. 120 bar or more
7. No known & common issues reported by people online

Have you ever considered petrol powered pressure washers?
Those are ridiculously noisy tho but offers the best pressure performance and reliability if maintained and serviced accordingly.

Meanwhile if budget and weight is not an issue, I suppose any of Bosch or Karcher's professional range of product can be considered since those are really designed for non-stop use and abuse. (Eg, Bosch GHP or Karcher HD). Be prepare to fork out at least 1.5 for the cheapest professional range.

At the same time, can check out Kranzle's cheaper range since their cheap range also above RM2000.
