Hello, anyone who's been using leather case can give me some advice ? This will be my first time ever trying out a leather case because I love the patina that will be unique to each individual.

Been doing some research and watch some youtubes, Nomad & Apple seems to come tie to tie, with Nomad winning slightly due to their protection and durability, anyone like to chip in ?

I am using apple’s leather case and the magsafe wallet.

Leather case is solid. But if you use magsafe charger can see the marking on the leather in the long run.

how long have you been using your leather case?

Is it worth the price at all ?

The quality of the leather is really nice to hold and touch. However, if you are the person that change phone every year then it’s not worth it. My iphone 12 is going for the long run this time, which is why i decided to get the leather case

For the patina, maybe you can get the brown color or lighter colour leather to really see the patina. I got the dark blue leather case, the patina is bit hard to spot

I'm like you, one iPhone use many years. I plan to use my iPhone 12 for 6-7 years at the very least, my last phone was iPhone 6. So I think I would be fine with the leather.

I've read some comments that Apple's leather case while it's really satisfying to hold and touch, but their patina doesn't patina at all or won't patina beautifully, ur thoughts ?

I’ve had the Baltic blue leather case for my 12PM, it didn’t patina well, more like discoloration than patina actually..not the type of leather I was looking for ..

I have to agree with you. But i dont see discoloration. Maybe you use alcohol to wipe the case?

That said, the side of my case turns black. Which i like. The case is blue all over and the side is a deep black like a line across

Aint that all apple leather is chrome tanned? How to build patina? Afaik, apple leather just wear and tear, no patina

Nomad leather cases Patina really well, been a Nomad user for many years - their leather is less delicate compared to Apple's leather case.

I currently own the Leather Case for iPhone 13 Pro Max and upon holding it for the first time, I can already tell that this leather will not last - just by holding it you can feel some moisture from your hands seeping into the leather

Never had the same issue with Nomad's cases - the only downside with Nomad is the thick-@ss bumper vs Apple's slim profile.

Its the Modern Leather Case, as long as its made from their Horween leather range, you'll be good.

Been using the Apple's midnight leather case for the past 2 months and all 4 edges already have discoloration/peel off and show the black layer. Purchased the unit from Machines. Disappointed with the quality.

I got the nomad last week and love how it feels liao love it so smooth. Edges are soft plastic border and back is covered by leather. Can start seeing lines due to nails at the back and it looks nice. Stsrted to patina slightly and cant wait for next 2 to 3 mo

Iphone 12 and 13 series apple leather case won’t have nice patina due to some sort of coating applied onto it.

In short if you’re using iphone 12 or 13, better go for Nomad.
