Salam warga /k,

Do you know what fish are these?

Its Ikan Tanda. Thumbs up to ZforZebra!

Guess its not seasonal since you can get it from the fishing ponds. But if you do see it, buy it and give it a try. Sweet flesh. Good for deep frying & steam.

I prepared them for my wife, MIL & kids for lunch.

[attachmentid=11073305]

Deep fried with spicy sambal for MIL & missus

Deep fried with soy sauce for the kids.

HK kailan fried with garlic.
Have a good lunch!

It actually have a look of Ikan Jenahak but Jenahak don't have the black color spot.

Jenahak is seawater fish, the one you show is freshwater fish?

Jenahak texture will be squishy if steam. It is still best cook with deep fry + sweet & sour. Malay's style will be 3 rasa ( sweet, sour & spicy).
