Currently I'm staying in a serviced apartment with strata titled. My JMB (4 committee members) want to change our current property management company to a cheap and untrustworthy new property company. JMB made the decision without involving and informing the other owners.

Most of us disagreed and JMB don't want to listen and make decision on behalf of more than 1700 owners.

Anyone can advise what we can do? Is it legally allow them to do so?

Is not an easy task to manage 170 owners .... what more to say about 1700.

The new mgt co may be cheap due to various reasons but is not a 100% yardstick to say they cannot perform their duty ...... BUT untrustworthy ?

All property management co are govern by LPPEH. Any complaints can be directed to the Board for an investigation. The co can be striked out if they breached their duty to perform their work satisfactory.

My condo had a similar incident. An EGM was called and JMB dissolved and reformed and the situation was reversed.
