hi konakona,
I'm currently a foundation in architecture student here....may intake...kinda new huh?!
Since u are taking up foundation studies here, here's my opinion here..
1
hope to help u out.. icon_rolleyes.gif
1. the class will be conduct at the new campus(called north wing)...quite nice actually,u can even go to the empty class and have ur revision there during break...i'd say it's really peaceful.. hehe...
2.since u are doing architecture then, you should expect a little expenses on it right?!you have to buy all those drawing and designing thing(a lot)such as pencil(4h-8b),model board, penknifve, cutting board, reference book(not much, oni rm80/each)which you would use it until u die..hehe...laptop is not necessory YET for foundation studies...but if u have 1 it's better..hehe..
3.about the constuction site(north wing),it's just a temporaly,i bet i would be a very nice environment after the constuction finished...btw,a swimming pool is coming on...u'll see a lot of international student her,for example, nigerian, iranian, and also alot of chinese...but don't worry, some of them are REALLY nice one...have to look for friend carefully lo...better be more open minded...

actually when i first come in into dis college,i'm really regret etc....
but after a month here,i think its better for me to study hard here inorder to get scholarship(although there is no scholarship for architecture here)
so,if u have anything to ask feel free to ask me...
correct me if there is anything wrong...

Oh thanks for the reply~ > < Really, thanks.

I like peaceful place~

Usually, roughly, how much does the designing tools would cost? Where do you usually buy the stuff?

Anyways, how do you think of the class, I mean is it hard, fast paced, etc..?

If averything goes well, I am going to register this Monday... So anxious...

well, let say 1 month u will use up to Rm100-200 if you are new because you have to buy a lot of starting tools...
Such as pencil(as i said 4h-8b),All kind of knives(use to cut model board),colour pencil,water colour,drawing block,art glue,etc...
there is limited shop to buy these thing as u knw,not everyone will use these thing...
there is a shop named CITYWRITE where u can get ur basic material to start ur class...
about the more advance tool,i'm affraid u have to buy it at ART shop..
Mid valley gt one(dunno wat name is it),or nan yang art at petaling street,or venus art at petaling street...
at first u'll have basic skill..such as drawing...well,that doesn't mean you have to be good at drawing...
bt if u really love architecture,i bet u will fall in love with drawing..
just liki me,i'm from sc stream, last time i hate to draw, and i hate art...
but after a while i felt that drawing is really AMAZING...hehe...
then u have to design, alot of design work, put some effort in searching ur inspiration,eg,go to times square o kinokuniya to look for example...
if there is luck, probably well meet in a same class for certain subject...
but u better b ready, certain class probably have more thn 60 student...
and u have to ROB ur place in shuttle bus if u dun av transportation...hehe...hopefully this does helf u out...btw,u r spm leaver rite?!

Yes I am. I was in Science Stream too, but somehow I end up wanting to take architecture. My first choice was Pharmacy, but it was too expensive everywhere, and my results was so and so.

Where is this Citywrite? I am thinking of going to buy things early and maybe do something so I can familiarize my self with the architectural stuff... Which shop do you often go?

What kin d of design we need to do? I mean, style of building et cetera...

I'll probably go with car so no problem with transport.

I am going to enrol this 28th.

Anyone knows how long the orientation would take and what should I bring?
