i've actually tried the WLAN capabilities yesterday while i was in sunway pyramid... i kept losing connection, but then again i was walking around the whole top floor...

in terms of surfing, it's ok... but the screen is still too small and can see that it was not designed to cater for web surfing... tested LYF and managed to post here as well... supports html.. full web capabilities... tried msn messenger as well.. problem is that it is difficult to switch between pages in browser as i only managed to open one at a time

silent auto restart? won't you need to key in your PIN # again? i never had a problem with the phone restarting...

as for the hissing sound, haven't experienced it... but then again, my hands are always on the metal part, which is the battery cover.

uiks i've experienced it too this morning (auto restart)...hmm is it just a bug or it it just a way to free up memory? coz it didn't ask for SIM Password the way when you manually restart your phone.

[UPDATE] i noticed that the auto restart thing is not a model specific problem. it happens to other models as well, A lot of people had post the same problem in the E60-E61i-E90 and E65. Now i wonder...is it the Symbian OS problem?
*
did the phone just go back to the nokia logo? blink.gif

i wonder how often the phone does this... luckily it's my personal line so i don't get much calls on it... so i wouldn't know if it restarted or not...

yup it just goes to the nokia logo for no apparent reasons...again i think that this effect alot of nokia models with symbian OS.....not specific to e51 it self.
*
wow.. that's really bad... i hope they have an upgrade for the software or something... makes it sound troublesome

I can't think of any others to share as my experience with the phone is quite similar to the other E51 users here.
Well, except for mine is the first to be sent in to Nokia Care for a service... cry.gif
I was told that my phone circuit board is faulty and that's the root of the problem. Pretty lame... sweat.gif
Anyway, I would  say it's user interface is responsive and easy to navigate.
Impressive features and functionality to cater most of your needs for business and some entertainment.
Namely, 3G,  HSPDA, WiFi, VOIP, PDF and document viewers, Music & Video players etc.
The main reason I get the phone is because it's the cheapest WiFi phone I can find during my time of purchase.
In short, I think it's a really worthy buy for it's price tag and long list of features and functionality though it might not be the perfect phone for everyone but I think it's far more than enough for me.

Just a side note :
I've not been using a handphone ever since I lost my previous phone quite some time ago because I can't find a good replacement for it.
Once I get the E51, it's really a welcome sight for me as the interface is easy and straight forward.
Therefore, I've no problem at all navigating/figuring out most of the features/functions without the need of digging through the manuals. thumbup.gif

agreed with what u said... i bought it because it was the cheapest WLAN phone as well..

circuit board faulty? sounds really fishy to me... how long will the repairs take?

You know, I still haven't found a screen protector. My E51's screen is collecting scratches by the day. Let's hope the original screen protector that came with the phone can last a little bit longer.
*
same ere man... i'm also looking for a screen protector... but i left the original sticker on... but i guess it won't last.. so need to find a screen protector a.s.a.p.

Initially, I requested for a 1 to 1 exchange as my phone is less than one month old from the day of purchase.
However, they quickly denied my request and told me it must go through a series of tests and repairs before they even would consider for a 1 to 1.
I've no choice since I have paid so much for the phone and needed the phone so agreed to send in for the test and repair.
After that, the person added that it would take around 1 to 2 days for everything to be done and they'll call me for pickup once it's ready.
Surprsingly, they didn't even bother to call me after 2 days so I called them myself on Friday and was told that my phone is ready.
Therefore, I went to Plaza Berjaya to collect my phone.
Well, the phone works as usual at least after the repair and I did noticed they've removed my circiut board.
This is true to what they claimed because there're a lot of traces that my phone has been fully dismantled before.
In short, the phone should be ready since day 2 after I sent it in but they didn't call me after that so it's left there till Friday.

aww shucks.. yea... usually they won't allow 1-to-1 switch... so sometimes, it's really down to luck.

but as long as it is under warranty, then by all means, just send it it... 2 days, that's pretty quick biggrin.gif

Hahahaha! I think I terkena what you guys have been describing. It's like, I already have a person's details in my contact list. Then, every time I receive SMS or phone calls from that person, their name doesn't appear, correct?
*
name does not appear when receiving SMS or phone calls from that person in the contact list? hmm.. never had that problem before.. so far all showing smile.gif
