The E-series welcome a new member in the face of Nokia E51. Featuring a classic metallic design, it has all the features you would expect in an E-series model, plus some extras on top. The phone will be quad-band GSM and will support GPRS and EDGE. In terms of third generation networks it is equipped with HSDPA, providing speeds of up to 3.6 Mbps. Other wireless connectivity includes Infrared, Bluetooth 2.0 and WLAN. Regarding wired connectivity Nokia E51 includes microUSB v2.0 full speed and a 2.5mm audio jack. It seems as if it doesn't have much in common with the Nokia E50 and when it comes to functionality it resembles more the Nokia E65. Regardless of the fact that the Nokia E51 is totally business-oriented, it is not completely depraved of multimedia capabilities. It has a 2 megapixel camera that is also able to record video. There is also an MP3 player and FM radio, as well as A2DP Bluetooth profile. The display on Nokia E51 is a 2" 16M color one that supports QVGA resolution. In terms of internal memory - the phone is doing well with a good 130MB, which is further expandable through the microSD card slot that support memory cards with capacity of up to 4GB. The new E-series family member will be globally available during Q4 2007 with a retail price of approximately EUR 350. This phone is going to cost a bomb with those HSDPA, radio & high internal memory

Don't forget that the E51 as with other E-series phones can be managed centrally with the Nokia Device Management suite. You wouldn't appreciate it unless you're deploying them in an enterprise environment.
Comparing the 6120 classic with the E51 (and other E-series phones), the 6120c doesn't have native VOIP. The E51 is also heavier but smaller, indicating that it will feel more "solid" than the 6120c. Lastly, the 6120c has less RAM than the E51, 64MB vs 96MB, which is critical for multitasking.

donno why so many don't like the looks of the phone... i'm looking forward to this phone... if u check the pics in www.nokia.com.sg in the See it in Action - the stainless steel back has bump dots... texture... cool! - the keypad material also has texture... - can only hope the trimming at the side wont attract fingerprints... + it's thin... and metal solid (weight) like the 6300... + wifi! FREE VOIP...! + extra shortcut keys + very business like... (that's why E series la...) + interesting battery life (1050mAh)... bigger capacity, can last longer then usual hope the price wont be sky high This post has been edited by edwin74: Oct 16 2007, 05:12 PM
