QUOTE(sonyclie77 @ Dec 7 2007, 09:12 AM) E65 is not plasticky at all. The battery cover's rubbery texture makes the phone feel very solid when holding in the hand. Oh noes! ANy idea when they'll have the chrome/silver version ?The 6120c on the other hand is very plasticky. But yeah I went to Nokia The Curve and actually held the actual unit of the E51. The metal casing really is solid, and feels good. Too bad they only had the black version. |

Finally caved in and bought a Black Steel E51 (Avaxx) .
Don't know if I got ripped off, but I got it for RM1399 + 1 GB Toshiba mSD. Paid using CC (no surcharge). Gonna transfer my contacts (any fast way to transfer from Windows Mobile to Symbian ?). Any help appreciated. Thanks. This post has been edited by Eoma: Jan 11 2008, 06:11 PM |

E51 users !
Let's share essential apps to make this neat little device even better. Currently I have/or have tried/want to know: 1. Google Maps 2. Yahoo Go! (will not install, sent an e-mail to Yahoo tech support, they said to check back often as they add new phones regularly) 3. Any freeware notepad app better than the included one ? With the default notepad app, I can't seem to move down a line. Need to press space many times for it to go down to the next line. 4. Any recommended media players ? Haven't played around with audio/video playback yet, but I think for my simple needs, the inc Realplayer should be "ok". 5. Any app to display the battery in percentages ? Will list/request more as i play around. p/s: How long does the battery last typically for you ? I get about 3 days with normal wifi/calls usage. |

QUOTE(katopunk @ Jan 18 2008, 09:01 PM) i just got my phone today, mixed feeling, not biasa with s60. as i'm using windows. maybe i'll take sometime to master the phone. but the thing i'm satisfied about it is the solidness of the phone. Hei thx katopunk ! PhonetInfo works great. Neat little app. i've been searching for softwares. there is this website that i came across with when i'm searching E51 forums. alot of good stuff there. http://www.howardforums.com/forumdisplay.php?f=177 Added on January 18, 2008, 9:03 pmeoma, i found a software. i haven't install it yet. maybe you like to take a look at it. http://www.patrickfrei.ch/phonetinfo/ Just transferred some stuff to the phone last night, Painfully slow ! (800KB/s to phone mem, a Toshiba 1GB mSD) Is it meant to be this slow ? I just used the data transfer mode, although later I used Nokia PC Site, about the same oso. ANything I'm doing wrong ? Also seems to take a lot of power, from almost full (2 bars missing) to 2 bars left !. |

1. The E51 performance is pretty zippy thanks to it's speedy 369Mhz CPU. 2. 3-4 days for me. A bit of wifi, mp3s, average sms & calls. 3. Haven't timed it yet, but I'd say around that. 4. Should be able to display most websites with no issues (LY.net works fine |

Mydelsol,
The pre-installed Office app can only view documents. You need to upgrade/buy to edit. This post has been edited by Eoma: Feb 13 2008, 11:13 PM |

I'm also looking for an external case/condom/etc for the E51. Something stylish la. ehe. Any recommendations ? (in PJ yah).
Also, any good stereo bluetooth sets you guys recommend ? tired of the wires already. something in ear, coz my ears are weird and the bundled headphones slip off easily. Thanks in advance. |

QUOTE Eoma, IIANM, the E51 doesn't support A2DP, better to check it out further before plonking down cash for a stereo headset. Eh, i tried it on my friend's motorola set and it worked. It's the set you get with the limited edition Jay Chou phone. That's what sparked my interest actually. http://www.nokia.com.my/A4803101 I paired the phone with the device, it entered headset mode iianm, then played a song via the default media player. Could have been in mono though (maybe) but there was audio from both sides. Hmmmmm. edit: Eh it's supported wad.... QUOTE(ston3r @ Mar 22 2008, 06:07 PM) i've actually tried the WLAN capabilities yesterday while i was in sunway pyramid... i kept losing connection, but then again i was walking around the whole top floor... Download Opera mini for a better surfing experience. in terms of surfing, it's ok... but the screen is still too small and can see that it was not designed to cater for web surfing... tested LYF and managed to post here as well... supports html.. full web capabilities... tried msn messenger as well.. problem is that it is difficult to switch between pages in browser as i only managed to open one at a time p/s: To the forummer asking about the Motorola S9 + E51 = yes it's in stereo. Sorry, lazy to check back again. hihihi. |

On Celcom, just shows the Number not in use message and disconnects the call. No hang ups.

Hey guys, I sometimes receive sms's or calls with the +6 suffix and these will not show up as a Contact/Name even though I've stored both versions of that number (the regular non +6 and +6 number) in that respective Contact. Any way around this ? Thanks.

QUOTE(mediumsliced @ Apr 15 2008, 11:24 PM) Hahahaha! I think I terkena what you guys have been describing. It's like, I already have a person's details in my contact list. Then, every time I receive SMS or phone calls from that person, their name doesn't appear, correct? Yup, exactly like that, though for me it's mostly for those with the +6 prefix ( lol) that won't appear as a Contact. Guess will just have to live with it then.... |
