Singapore has 2 telcos sharing infrastructure so they have 2 infra providers - DWN. Provide balance between quality and competition.

I observed DNB 5G is faked by the LTE 700mhz in fact in most area it does not come with actual 5G speed (the high speed 300-400Mbps). By using Ookla speed test it will debunk whether is really 5G or 4G. The icon on the phone can show 5G but in reality is actually 4G.

DNB faking the 5G coverage to public declaring the 5G coverage which in fact is the LTE not the 5G.

Fake 5G and Real 5G … if look at the coverage today actually is over reported.

DNB main aim is money masuk somebody's pocket. Do you think they care about 5G?

As said, the coverage map is a joke, it does not consider indoor area / underground area.. most indoor area does not have coverage like shopping mall or parking area.

In Singapore, I also get full bar 5G signal strength in underground parking area or even in lift!

for real or fake 5G, Samsung phone will show you are connected to 700Mhz or 3.5Ghz by seeing its 5G this two symbols...

DNB also can focus some indoor area first but so far I see NONE

crowd shopping mall can consider to have indoor coverage like midvalley, Sunway Pyramid or One Utama , etc...

and as of today, there is NO Yes 4G signal in parking area in Sunway Pyramid Mall, thinking about they use app to pay parking fee, then how you can do so?

Small Island never is an excuse, Taiwan also not a small island but they established more than 12K 5G cell tower in just 2 years, I believe the coverage is also far better than in Malaysia .

The gov always likely very proud of the coverage map but do they know there are many blind spot ?

can. but i think their focus is on getting the main towns to at least get some connectivity first rather than some parking lots.

also like i said earlier, they always think they can do a better job than the rest. but let's face it, we are not that competent. we are far behind others.

according to Fahmi, DNB now will focus to turn on the remaining approximately 2000 towers to achieve 80% population coverage by end of year.

not surprising that's the priority over some underground parking lot. got to be reasonable at times. some main towns dun even have 5g yet.

so no more new 5G tower?
the rest of the coverage will be done by the 2nd 5G operator? what frequency band they will be allocated or they have to use the existing one?

Using their existing spectrum holdings would be a baaaaddd idea (doing DSS will impact 4G users), no way the new entity can match DNB in terms of speed if they did that

Probably new allocation of 700MHz/3.5GHz/28GHz to them

Maybe DNB will continue rollout with Yes & TM hmm.gif

That's why I mentioned TM and Yes will probably continue have shares in DNB... unless something changes

New entity most likely held by CelcomDigi/Maxis/U Mobile just like they wanted before

.
Maybe, NW1 will be owned by Maxis and Celcom-Digi and NW2 will be owned by TM, U Mobile and YES.
....... If so or similar, this arrangement will be better than each celco building it's own 5G network because of too much duplication or wastefulness of 5G infrastructiure.

Presently, each celco has built it's own 4G network of cell towers and backhaul connections to TM's HSBB Fiber network, ie Maxis, Celcom, Digi, TM, U Mobile and YES = 4G infrastructure has been duplicated 6 times.

Remember, for essential services like supply of water, electricity, Fiber/4G/5G Internet and cellphone communications, it's better for the people to have a nationalized or regulated monopoly, eg Tenaga Nasional, TM HSBB Fiber, Air Selangor, etc = minimal or non-excessive profit-gouging of customers/people. Private companies tend to profit-gouge or price-gouge the customers/people.
....... Eg in USA, Fiber Internet services are monopolized or duopolized by private companies according to regions (allocated by the US government) which have profit-gouged the customers/people, eg Comcast.
.
