What is the features?

if Telco is allowed to use existing spectrum to deploy 5G, then DNB 5G is sure to be failed....

So no country in the world is successful to deploy 5G using SWN....

Wasted billion on this project and go back to the starting point...

and Maxis bets gov to go back to original place...

it's possible to have dual 5G network, for example, allow Telco using their existing spectrum to provide 5G network for indoor area only, with limiting it's transmitting power...

you should say in another way... the two Telco just want to rely on DNB 5G network and not investing heavily to enhance their 4G coverage...

if gov allows 2nd 5G network, the investment of 5G will never return .. even the Telco using their current spectrum to deploy ...

CDMU network is already 5G ready...

Once gov allows 2nd 5G network, DNB then has no advantage on this... collect skin very soon after this because the cost will never recover ......

talking about how many % of population coverage shouldn't be the only target .. gov should also consider the poor indoor and undergrounf coverage

anyone knows how's our underground train station coverage is how? I believe none of them have 5G coverage... especially in the tunnel when the train is moving

Lalaport also have 5G indoor coverage but limited to shopping area, not including parking area, even Unifi / Yes has no line there

the progress of indoor / underground of 5G coverage is very far below expectation while gov seems only talking about the coverage regarding population... so we shall use 5G as fixed broadband later instead?...

I remembered when I was in Singapore in Jan 2023, their 5G coverage also including shopping mall underground parking area and even in the lift....

so DNB will be another headache problem for gov because gov cannot let all investment gone but also hard to get profit from it, even cost recovery...

end up I think customer would let telco bid the 20Mhz of 700-band and 200Mhz of 3500-band, one of the condition needs to "buy" the asset of DNB.. so the gov can leave DNB project at least not losing any $$...

the map for reference only ... as said, many indoor or underground area does not have coverage...

many indoor area in KL has no 5G, and the further development will be outside KL... what is the meaning of 5G? to be a fixed wireless broadband?

in Singapore / Hong Kong, their signal strength can even cover in a lift or a hotel room with full bar signal, probably speed is not as fast as DNB network but at least with a lower latency.

As said, the coverage map is a joke, it does not consider indoor area / underground area.. most indoor area does not have coverage like shopping mall or parking area.

In Singapore, I also get full bar 5G signal strength in underground parking area or even in lift!

for real or fake 5G, Samsung phone will show you are connected to 700Mhz or 3.5Ghz by seeing its 5G this two symbols...

sure M will wait until next year only got 5G...

DNB also can focus some indoor area first but so far I see NONE

crowd shopping mall can consider to have indoor coverage like midvalley, Sunway Pyramid or One Utama , etc...

and as of today, there is NO Yes 4G signal in parking area in Sunway Pyramid Mall, thinking about they use app to pay parking fee, then how you can do so?

Small Island never is an excuse, Taiwan also not a small island but they established more than 12K 5G cell tower in just 2 years, I believe the coverage is also far better than in Malaysia .


The gov always likely very proud of the coverage map but do they know there are many blind spot ?
