(not sure if this is the right section to ask)

I had this very cheap tesco brand induction cooker, where it doesn't go under 100C, and I suspect it had something to do with my electric bill go double/triple.

Everyone is telling me induction uses not much electricity, so maybe because cheap cooker somehow "lies" about the electricity usage ? can someone explain to me?

and If I were to try again, is the Xiaomi one with 99 levels of heat ok ?

Electric heating is expensive in MY as compared to domestic gas tong. Even without conversion losses its still running about 3kW or so tongue.gif u can compare the kwh units in TNB bill before and after u started. Do not compare the RM because price per unit is staggered according to tier.

My MIDEA Induction is excellent. You save by using induction compared to gas in the long run for sure. It is also faster (more than double times) than Gas when cooking...so you not only save cost but save time too cos you need not wait long when cooking.

Gas is also very hot cos it uses flame. No thx!

Ya, its not impossible to lift up to place into gas roller "steering wheel thingy with castors" from mrdiy rolleyes.gif I don't carry it all the way. Roll it!

Sendiri angkat = skip delivery fee
For lifting full tong into boot the Petron staff will help biggrin.gif

Empty tong is about 15kg only mah.. wear glove use 2 hands is easy.

Using gas need to periodically check the hose connections. Make sure no leakage.
Cuz few cases explosion cause by leakage hose.

I smoke alot at home, so I abit paranoid when I light up my ciggie, I will go in kitchen check the hose first then only smoke.

You are wise to think this way. Yes many homes were burnt down due to the gas leaking and the owner/tenant lit the rokok and BOOM!!

So many times during before MCO Festive seasons...many neighbours got frustrated cos in the middle of cooking lavish dishes...the gas habis! The kedai runcit also not opened. So how? Spoilt la the celebration dinner.

Meanwhile..those using Induction cooked up delicious meals with no hiccups at all :-D There is no need to let your festive season spoilt by lack of gas.
