Anyone have this type of beautiful spider (thiania bhamoensis) as pets.?
I collect these spider when i was in primary skool time. This spider can lives very long if well taken care of.
I like its colour.. striking blue/green stripes on its body. If keep in dark places, it will turn dark colour, put to bright area with sunlight.. its colour will grow nicer. Its harmless wont bite ppl1.

No pet shop selling these spider. Have to catch at some bushes especially places where got alot daun sirih leaves.
I miss those days when i have this fighting spider.

i got keep this spider also when i am young
quite easy to find at my hometown there coz alot of bushes and trees

oh..i got put together for them to fight..try keeping..but die liao duno why..haha

i used to have quite a number of them, getting them food proved to be a challenge thou.

How come? These spiders can eat insects.. Last time i feed them with mosquites, baby flies, ants , etcs.
Give plain water to drinks. Easy to look after.

I've learn my lesson last time.. alot ants went in the spider case and eat my spider till left its head only.
Just need to put it spider case surrounded by water to avoid ants goin in to eat the dead
insects and also the spider.

I can keep my spider for almost 1 year or more. Its fat, big and strong. about half my thumb finger size:lol:

Last time i saw in Chinese newspaper got pic of the fighting spider and its owner.. damn big leh especially its 2 claw.. really big size too its body.
Sure win alot of fighting match.

I have my fair share of them when I was in primary school

Most of mine live in match-stick box ( for ease of bringing to school for combat with friend's ) with a piece of fresh leaf changed every few days or when dried

They dont drink much but once a while a drop of plain water or saliva seems to work fine

Diet - My blood if I spill any , Blood laden mosquito , flies maggots , mealworm , small crickets and fellow combat loser who lost a limb or two ....etc

But nowadays they have seem to disappeared and nowhere to be seen LOL

If not will sure catch some for my children to play

haha, i use to keep them and breed them when i was in secondary,
but then now once come to study uni already no more keep and breed already...

Yea lol. Use to catch them in pandan bushes last time. Puff some air at them to tame them.. Lol.

last time use match box to store them
but now very rare ppl have this kind of pet liow because parent say dont ply with insect

Yeah.. alot of ppl keep the spiders in matchbox but i prefer to keep in inside the round Trebor sweet case.
Use nails to poke few holes on the top for air go in. Flip the Trebor case upsidedown and theres the fighting ring.

I give the spider plain water, sometimes rain water or air embum early in the morning. Give them good training exercise like walking on thin string stretch far,
mirror fighting, etcs. My spiders won quite some matches in school days and some of my friends also ask me to help taking care of their spiders when its injured or kecut liao after lost in
fighting match. Just isolate the spiders for few days and keep them well.. and it will be ready for fresh matches.

Normally i only let the spider fight among same size so when lose, it just ran away. Some of the matches is very exciting where the spiders can fight few rounds solid matches
Terkam-menerkam , flip each other, break one of it arm or even fight till the death.

Best tip for making the spider aggressive in fighting is put it facing a female spider 1st to make it "Gian" before the match with other male fighting spider. Chances to win is very high

The big ones are hard to find. It can kill other smaller fighting spider easily. Some of my friends sell those fighting spider few ringgit depends on its size and fights won.

I loves fighting spider. Their fighting skill and style is excellent

NOwdays.. hardly ppl play fighting spider liao.. but its out there always.

Seriously, I never see spider fight before.. I only heard stories from my father.

wah cant believe u treating ur spider like some kind of boxer. Training them up, shadow boxing, and looking for opponent from the same weight class.

I kept spider as pet for quite a few time during primary n secondary school time. But not for fighting purpose, no other ppl keeping them as pet anyway, just enjoy watching them devouring the unlucky insect u threw inside. Btw how u guys capture mosquito n fly without killing them? most of the victim ended up flat eventhough i try to capture them alive.

Hahha.. those days when i small la.. i take good care of my spider and feed them well.. Train them so they can win in fighting match ma...
Some of my friend dunno how to keep spider, most of their spider died very fast coz din get enuf water of food 2 eat.

Its very easy to catch mosquitoes or small flies alive and feed my spider. Just get a book and a see through plastic cup, scoop the small insect into the glass close using the book. Later release the spider on the book and blow some air to make the spider still. Later open the glass abit and put the spider into in. Then sit bacb k n enjoy see the spider hunt and eat the files or mosquitoes..

Fighting spider in the wild is not easy to catch.. they can run n jump away very fast.
Last time some of my friends try to catch it using hand. He tried to scoop the spider using his 2 hands between the leaves but the spider is crushed to death.. "Kemek" Some accidentally break the spider arms while try to terkup the spider using their hands.. Kinda dumb right?

Some of the good way to catch these fighting spider is to use Trebor round case. If u see the spider hiding in between the leaves. Open and move the trebor case to top and bottom of the leaves den close it. The case will cut the leaves end and the spider is caught inside the Trebor case ady.
Another way is to blow air "Tiup" at the spider so it will freeze and cant move, put ur hand close to the spider and it will jump onto the finger den open ur spider case and let it jump into it, close it.

nice to know still got enthusiasts around... i've been playing with fighting spiders all my life since standard one and i still do every now and then although now i'm a professional and married

some people like cats, some like dogs and i love fighting spiders!

me and my gang catch them during primary school in the forest....we catch many insects and fighting spider is one of them...of course my favourite bug is grasshopper...sometimes i got praying mantis if lucky...mantis is fierce....ever fiercer than fighitng spider.

one time i caught bout 3 -5 fighitng spider....then i found a poison catterpillar (obviously colourful shiining body caterpillar is poison...very)... I throw into the jar...the spiders bite the catterpillar's body and sucking or no idea wad they r doing and all die....

dunno whether u guys believe...sometimes if dun have mosquito or fly to catch alive for spider....my frenz get honey bee for them.
