I am currently away from my home & tv. And only have my laptop & a 1440p Monitor.
I am thinking if there is anyway to stream Netflix/Disney + at 1440p onto this monitor? I seen people mention is not possible through browser... but what if I get an apple tv or chromecast to plug into my monitor? Or both streaming services simply don't support 1440p, and can only go 1080p or 4k directly?

QUOTE(Summer Time @ Nov 22 2021, 06:19 AM) Original video resolution is either 1080p or 4K, there is no video resolution made in 1440p. But you can still stream 1080p or 4K content to a 1440p monitor. The browser will just still scale up or scale down the video only. This is no different from making the browser window smaller and you can still watch video having resolution larger than the window. But will the 4K content actually downscale to 1440p? Or more likely they will b 1080p upscale to 1440p? QUOTE(xswatch @ Nov 22 2021, 06:24 AM) Disney+ Hotstar offers full HD (1080p) resolution for most of their content. However, they do offer a selection of Ultra HD 4K movies in Malaysia if you watch it on the big screen with the Android TV & Apple TV Disney+ Hotstar app. No such thing as 1440p. its either 1080p or 4k (but very small selection only). BUT u need to use android tv or apple TV to view that 4k content. cheapest & reliable option is using mi TV stick. so in ur case, laptop + 1440p monitor = 1080p for All contents. That means I would never able to enjoy 4K content (downscale 2k) using the 2k monitor ? I understand there is no 1440p content , but I’m wondering if a 4K content will automatically downscale to 1440p for better native resolution. Watching 1080p on 2k monitor looks horrible 😵
