Original video resolution is either 1080p or 4K, there is no video resolution made in 1440p. But you can still stream 1080p or 4K content to a 1440p monitor. The browser will just still scale up or scale down the video only. This is no different from making the browser window smaller and you can still watch video having resolution larger than the window.
