Hai this is my friends Xbox 360 which i water cooled it with Cooler Master Aqua Viva SLI

I made the front Skin but my friend made the rest...Do comment ok!!!

My own Xbox360 was died after i over baked it in the Oven hahahahaha...

Now I'm Xboxless hihihi....But that will not break my spirit to buy another one so i can water cooled it again..

doesnt make any diffference unless you send it to MS.SG or that shop is able to solve ur regular 3r0d problem

but here's a tip:

Just stick the X-clamp (the x- clamp is useful after all...hihihi) to the heatsink using 3M double sided tape (or any double sided tape)

And screw the X-clamp to the steel case...All screw are provided in the Cooler Master kit

The only extra is the washer and 4 long screw (long enough to be screw on the metal case,this is for the heatsink with pump install in it)...that's all

as for the GPU the water block is perfectly fit as the gab between the DVD-Rom is enough for the water block to be install.

I was wondering end of september, maybe i will pay you a visit for water cooling for my home ntsc/j unit. It would be cooler( <--this cool) if you could change the PSU as well. Having the step down converter is annoying.

1)Carbon sticker 3ft X 4 ft = RM 38
2)Orange Taneka sticker 3" X 2" = est RM5
3)Chorome front panel = RM 84 (can get from www.play-asia.com)
4)And the look = priceless man

Anyway what happen to ur XBOX ? If u having 3ROD I suggest u change the X-Clamp first u can find the tutorial some where in this forum that's is the cheap way to fix it

But if the X-Clamp replacement did not fix the the Problem and u fell your world is DOOM without your XBOX360 then we'll start to talk bout water cool it...

1)I not quite free right now cause in busy with Raya sales at my car accesory shop (location Serdang)
2)U don hav to change the X-clamp if u wan to do water cooling,cause u gonna throw the ori heatsink or post it back to M$
3)u don hav to mod if the BOX do not hav problem.


4)This is the list if u want to mod the skin

think harder man..water cooling is not cheap toy to play with.Try to get your own stuff better.Maybe u can get them much cheaper then my price.

Maybe I can try to venture into this as I already has the water pump, the radiator and the reservoir. I'm just looking for waterblocks, been looking for Koolance but very hard to get it mail to Malaysia. Since you recomended the Cooler Master, why not.

if u closely exam one of the picture u can see that on the CPU side the water block tubing is blocked by on of the "Kapasitor"(indon slang)
So u need to bend it aside.bid tricky there.

I am really happy with the performance so far.
Play daily for 1-2 hrs non-stop and no ROD or hang.
Will try this weekend for more than 3-4 hrs if not busy with family matter.

Just got back from Lowyat Plaza. Went to Thundermatch at 4th floor, no stock for the Cooler Master Aquagate Viva Duo, then headed to AllIT, very happy because the have a lot of stock but the price is RM359.....WTF... Really out of my budget.

Edit : Just ordered one from CCOM at level 2. They're selling for RM285. Nice

OK do u know ATI latest high end graphic the HD2900XT(do search on the internet about this latest beast)..Well the GPU of this baby is almost the same as the GPU on the XBOX360 unit
the different is the ATI HD2900XT can render DX10 but on the XBOX360 it can render only DX9..but as for the raw power there are almost the same

as u can see on the ATI HD2900XT a large heatsink is place on it to cool down the GPU and they use fan on this
which is for XBOX360 the M$ people use a very cute little heatsink to cool down the GPU and also use under power fan and that little cute heatsink is not even enough to
cool down the GPU inside the BOX.not even the new improve heatsink on Elite is enough.People in Singapore already become a victim for 3ROD in Elite unit.And one of
them claim the play it for only one week..Suwei Gile lah tu

That is why people realize that the GPU need to be cool by other method..that is by water cooling it.Which is the Best and Risky solution for now.

As far as what I read at the various forums, all X360s that are modded with watercooling haven't been hit by 3ROD. Even some people who changed the x360 case to a PC case, putting a lot of 120mm fan also hit with this dreaded deases.

I was looking for a watercooling kit that can be fitted nicely into x360 and found out the Koolance is the best but the price and availability is out of the question. Then came Iksing78 that had successfully installed the CM Aquagate Viva Duo into it and the price is quite reasonable. So I would say watercooling is all the way.

Can't wait to get ny hands on it.

yep tot31 i pretty interested if the watercooling solution can solve all the issue on the xbox360 permanently and with the price tag around rm400 that u guy mention it seem pretty good solution.

I like to point out that this is not 100% guarantee on solving the 3ROD on XBOX360 but it is the BEST and RISKY(a minor pin hole on the water hose can blown ur XBOX360 to sky high) method to minimize the 3ROD to strike back.

WARNING : Do not bring your XBOX360 to LAN party as it will possibly damage the water tubing while transfer process is being carried out.

the reason is because the tutorial is already been written by Guardian himself( ),the only part that change is to change the heatsink to waterblock

If u know how change the X-clamp u don need a tutorial on how to put a waterblock to ur XBOX360

very nice mod. but if i this apply this mod surely will find a way (ways) to hide the reservoir under the table. looks like the xbox lose it's nilai estetika when the reservoir attached to it

hmm...quite a mess IMHO. lksing, can i power up the watercool system using 12vdc adapter?

can we tap the 12v from the original fan supply? I mean cut the wire and re-solder a new fan to molex connector.

No.!!!!....Don do that!!!!...the ori XBOX fan hav fan controller which is sync with the processor temp.....so if u take the power source from there...
Hihihi...Booom ....The other source is from the DVD rom (Risky though).

i'm starting my project with aquagate duo right now, i have some problem with the input, is it ok if i just get the supply from the dvd source.. does it effect the dvd drive? or maybe is much safer if im using the external 12v adapter? need ur opinion...

Use the one below the power in ( 2nd screenshot ). Way better, direct power sauce ftw!

Edit: another sauce for you to use. 12v at dvd-rom is not recommended since dvd-rom is using it a lot and it can put heavy burden to circuitry and somehow if it could not hold it you brick your 360. Use the other free sauce.

lksing78, thanks for giving this idea... I manage to revive my 3rod xbox360 and i'm using water cooling method now.. its work great..






just my first try.. I will 'touch up' a little bit later on, very busy with my own jobs right now.. need to find shorter screw and probably find new metal plat to hold down the copper.. x-clamp plat already thrown away long time a go, both of them.. hhahahahhaha

Does the waterblock on the GPU have enough space to clear the bottom of the dvd ?

its copper.. im using collermaster aquagate viva pro duo, there a bulk section here i think ngbh sell it around rm275 (bulk). but i really need so much, so i went to loyat, cycom no stock (tot31 get it around rm285 there), pczone got stock but rm300, i just grab it.. it has plenty space under the cdrom.. my pic there just my first test.. so thats why im using long screw.. so, later on i will touch up kasi cantek2... bz maa..

Ask some X-clamp from one of our forumer Djiln (sorry if i spell ur name wrongly ).I heard he got a lot.Use the x-clamp so u can put the DVD-rom on the top of the heatsink

PS: do put some suction fan to suck out hot air from ur Box...KUDOS Good job

lksing78 better use an adapter instead have u heard the latest news about ppl getting banned for modding xbox with fan? (they detect with bios voltage meter) so wat ever u r adding that use electricity better get source from adapter or wat ever la xcept 360

I won't worry bout that cause my theory is,I draw the power from the extra cooler that i brought ( See post #64,from previous page).Which is easier.
So if ur worry about ur console been ban from LIVE ( which is a rumour and not yet proven) try using my method that i use.I don think external cooler will get u ban right.
