See if you prefer sedan or SUV, I tried sat on Altis, headroom is bad to me brushing my hair at rear seat.

SUV wise Although Subaru XV came with 2.0 engine, but fuel economy is pretty decent for its weight and engine displacement + AWD, Forester 2.0 I had driven got better FC than X50 for similar drive, and this car really stable with its Boxer engine low center of gravity design, only shortfall to me is not well equipped with active safety feature they promised previously, and many here hate Tan Chong a lot for some reason I'm not so sure of.

Mine to also share why X50 not in your list since you have considered XV?

In general highway speed sedan sure better than SUV, but SUV nowadays are pretty well built to cater high speed, except the very light build Ativa will not do well above highway speed.

there were 2 reasons why i ruled out x50, 1. extremely long waiting 2. wind noise is surprisingly loud at 140kmh

Yeah really long waiting time,
For Wind Noise haven't tested 140km/h, however I tried 120km/h for recently collected model, seems like wasn't there anymore, just left with reasonable "Flub flub flub" wind noise which is reasonable at that speed for SUV(Comparing with Subaru Forester), not like those reviewer claimed "High Pitch" noise.

in a way i was not so fond to SUV back then, but again i told myself why not just go test them out then only decide
cross is quite long queue, cross hybrid i was told that it will be ckd already and the price is slightly above budget already
my wife was saying the cabin size is not impressive for xv, however xv gave me one of the best driving feeling among those i tested

XV not small in term of cabin size, it was built based on C-Segment platform like the Imprezza,
I don't think Myvi space can come anywhere close compared with XV, Don't just look at the leg space available,
Myvi look spacious because they have really short seat that can't support your thigh sufficiently which is not comfortable for long distance ride.
