If got old passenger, just ignore cars like civic la, i'm only in my mid 30's, when I get in and out of civic i will curse that car. Personally driving the XV2 for 1 year already, really love it.

Fuel consumption for me is 9+ litre per 100km in city drive, about 8+ for highway drive. I managed to reach 7.8 ish range by driving like a stupid slow poke road hogger la, it wasnt fun or realistic for me, it definitely wasnt any fun for cars behind me. But do consider the fact that my car is probably 30-50kg heavier than normal due to sound proofing.

ahh, nice info coming from both cars owner. Civic is really that low eh? I once borrowed friend's passat cc to fetch my parents and they really struggle badly to get on and get off.

The driving feeling on XV indeed is really fun. That's why I had a hard time deciding now laugh.gif

It really is.

As for you loving the driving feeling, just buy lo, next XV gonna get eyesight. If not now, then when? If you dont need to worry about aged passengers, then probably new civic will be more fun, but still depend on your driving habit and style la, for me simple:

1. I dont want low car, i'm fatty, hard to get up and down, plus bad experience from my friend's civic, but persona that kinda higher sedan is ok
2. I'm more of a nerdy person, so XV's simple design in and out is actually way more appealing to me, civic and altis have that old chunky looking "TV" that I cannot accept, Mazda 3 is pretty in and out, but once i sat into the driver seat, it felt so cramped and there's so many distraction around the driver side, not to my liking.
3. I dont know much about "ride and handling", but test drive on the XV felt different, for a SUV, it's very stable and fun round the corner, but again i didnt test enough car in my life to know enough about "ride and handling"
4. Not the most popular opinion, I do like CVT, I feel that CVT give me the smooth ride feeling, I dont quite understand the "passion" of AT la, i just want my ride to be smooooooth like butter, and XV's CVT is actually very very comfy feeling, as for the lack of power for acceleration, doesn't matter to me la, how many time do we need to over take people? how many time in a year we need to floor the pedal other than for fun only?
5. Car boot is small, once you open the boot instantly can tell it's small, so if wanna fetch passenger and many luggage, it's not the best option, but it's a compact C segment la, so realistically, how big can it be before you need to pay more for the higher segment? For me it's ok since I dont usually have back passengers, and I've moved house, buy and transport 1.8m shelve components from IKEA, etc with my XV, just fold down the seats and it's big enough for all your usage la.
6. FC is just like that la, SUV + AWD, cannot fight with sedan in anyway.

I think once you sit down and think what you want to do with the car, what you care more, what you dont care, then it's easy to select the car. The worst case scenario, you dont like it, 3-5 years later just change lo...

Hi TS,
I'm very much in the same situation as you, I tested the ketam Civic and even at 39 years old with good bones and posture I can feel the difficulty. I am a big fan of Civic since EG in 90's.

To me I won't make decision until I sit in FE and my back and thighs tell me to fork off hahaha, or the new price too high until its out of range. Even then, I may buy it and suffer the depreciation when selling it in 5 years time....

Among the other cars you have, my personal take is that without ADAS, its not worthwhile. Think of the 1 time you can avoid a big crash, and the 10's of times you can avoid the fender benders. How much is that worth?

Can I suggest Corolla cross? It is firmly in my thoughts right now.

Many people will say that ADAS waste money, "i've driven car for X years, no ADAS also no problem, bla bla bla" but they failed to realized that you only really need ADAS you save you and your family that 1 time, just that 1 time probably somebody dont need to die in the accident, and that itself is priceless.

Im so envy of the new 2022 XV, finally got eyesight, and eyesight have a very good reputation for it's ADAS. And do note that not all ADAS is born equal, some brand's ADAS is better than others.

got do some offroading then get Scubbie XV or Forrester.

just highway travels, Camry will do the job just fine.

Did you just recommended a 180-190k car when TS max 130k budget? Maybach S-Class will also do the job just fine.
