Well, I seen people going up to Genting lately with family onboard, no issues. It isn't fast but decent.
Alza is due for a refresh, but it's probably next year

Weight 1.3 tonnes like the Aruz. Will surely feel underpowered and fuel consumption quite high.

you are mostly buying because you want the rear sliding doors on both side.

other within similar dimensions.... do not have that...which makes elderly going in/out easier, similar to accessing rear.

but that price already now have Serena and Biante having similar features...
I know Honda Freed has this, but their centre of gravity design is just poor...going through corners...with small wheels and factory suspension.

so, I wouldn't buy Sienta for the slightly better , but consider other in the market...
Nissan Serena s-Hybrid is good in my book of the lot , but it is also a 2.0 vs Sienta 1.5.

so, goes down to budget...service cost... new/used ....

then jut follow the slow vehicle for the right time to pass biggrin.gif
Biar lambat asal selamat

If you know your car well you wont even try to do stupid things like simply cut out and face oncoming vehicles.

Dont act like rempit always cannot brake or always need to maintain high speed else something wrong

You have to know your car's capability well enough if you want to overtake other vehicles. And if it's dangerous, you just don't.

Don't drive recklessly like this 1.5l 7 seater car.

i thought the 2.4l is a good engine no? its one of those which dont give u probs. i cant get a diesel my petrol card would not cover diesel hahabaa.

trying to keep it within a budget of RM60-70k.. if RM100k will need to take out a loan for a ride again. Trying to avoid taking a loan at this moment cause next year will be buying a bigger place as well. avoiding loan.
*
The 2.4l is prone to engine bearing and conrod failures in the Sorento. In fact every petrol engine in the Sorento are prone to failures regardless whether it is the GDI version or not. If you follow groups on Sorentos you'll know it isn't quite a bed of roses unless it's the diesel or the V6 variants.

I suggest you buy something else and avoid petrol powered Sorentos until there is a recall on that engine in Malaysia as it has been recalled many times in US for engine fires as well.

QUOTE(ceo684 @ Nov 2 2021, 02:24 AM)
why not HIACE 2.7 FACELIFT WINDOW VAN 11 SEATERS? brows.gif
I drove one of these (manual) up Batu Feringgi before. Very nice short shift. JDM unit with japanese player etc.
2015 one about 70k or so.
*
The purpose of this vehicle is to have a smaller and less cumbersome vehicle to transport persons in a wheelchair. Currently done by a Renault Kangoo, a Citroen Berlingo and Fiat Doblo. All of these vehicles are regular passenger car sized, low floor and have sliding doors on the side which made them ideal for a wheelchair ramp.

Currently the Doblo has 600k on it and is becoming a pain to maintain due to lack of parts.
The Kangoo has 400k on it and would need a new engine soon.
The Berlingo has 450k on it and will need maintenance and repairs done to it that would exceed its value.

Planning to replace all 3 of them with something newer and easier to maintain without breaking the bank account.

That Hiace is a bit too big as sometimes these vehicles go to hospitals, especially public hospitals that's an impossibility to find parking nearby and disabled parking lots are often either abused or occupied.

That back is a huge space, can put in a Honda EX5 together with other balik kampong barang!

Interesting, it doesn't appear to be that big from the pictures.

Sienta smaller version of wish, quite crampy but good to use as daily car still

Voxy Noah smaller version of Velfire

i m looking for 7 seater also

Now eyeing Serena (top up not abit). but discount not much also even year end

but seems next year many cars coming ler BRV, X90, Avanza, plenty of choices
*
Really? Thought usually Nissan year end is the time they'd throw price and give overtrade allowances. They've stopped that practice recently?

7 seater SUVs and midi-MPVs like the Avanza aren't comfortable as 7 seaters unless the +2 seats are occupied by pre-teen children. Also many of them when you use those seats then you lose a significant amount of cargo room.

QUOTE(maprocks @ Nov 2 2021, 10:39 AM)
looking at freed and sienta kinda reminds me of the old boxy renault kangoo

anyway, never owned a sienta and never drove 1. however, i did managed to have a look at the car when went in for a car service at Toyota SC a few years back. Seat folding mechanism is just mind blowing. Interior-wise, didn't really like it.
*
I would love to buy another Kangoo, a true workhorse but too bad it isn't being sold any longer and used ones are quite tired examples now. Also later ones were only sold as panel vans.

That's definitely true but both of those lack the sliding doors.

The Freed is a good one too but newest ones would be more than 5 years old.

Definitely buying it for the sliding doors and also lower floor height.

Not too keen on the Serena due to the Jatco CVT and not too keen on that hybrid system.

I'm interested to know if there's any hidden issues with this car as surprisingly for a Toyota it didn't sell in big numbers.

Not that attractive a deal also.

In fact crazy to buy a hybrid with such a short warranty unless there's a separate battery warranty.

I'd probably wait till the Exora is replaced with that one designed by Geely.

No point buying an Exora as its just too antiquated a vehicle and in this day and age there's 0 reasons to buy a car that has as many niggling faults to it.

Serena is not a true hybrid car.
By right it should not use the word 'hybrid'
It only uses a bigger lorry battery to keep the rest of electronics running during stoppages when the petrol engine is cut off.
