Not sure if anyone do this before, currently there's telephone socket on living room and master room, anyone know are they connected? coz i thinking the possibility to install an ethernet cable by reusing the same wiring hole from living room to master room.

Thanks for advises

to add on :

1. Im well aware on wifi, the main point i want RJ45 is because of ping, i want to keep ping as low as possible, wifi 6 do offer lower ping but still cant match with RJ45.
2. Its a new condo, if it can be reused then can save my money, it not then need to have a new line from living room to master room, which cost some money.
3. Reuse mean i just want to slot in additional RJ45 on top of current telephone line, if the telephone line direct connected to my master room.

I was in similar situation too.
Googling around revealed that it was possible to convert RJ11 to RJ45 but the speed will be tampered significantly to around 10-20Mbps.
And this has higher chance to deteriorate over time.
The plan was cancelled and eventually I decided to setup a mesh WiFi.

I had mine converted to RJ45 in my Master Bedroom and Living room.
I tap the RJ11 wire from behind the house directly to my Unifi router for landline.

It is much easier to use wireless than converting the phone line to Ethernet.

The phone line wire is not twisted as many as the Ethernet cable, like how any twist per meter. Therefore, it is more exposed to surrounding noise. You also need the phone wire with 2 pair of wires at least. However, I think the phone cable would be just 100BaseT.

Some modify the PowerLine adapter to use phone cable as transmission medium. You probably get around 200Mbps.

I'd say just use Wireless. Not worth wasting time and money on the old phone cable which may not work to your expectation.

Yes, better to fish a brand new CAT5E or CAT6 cable in your phone line conduits if you don't want to waste that wall sockets.

Depending on where both rooms are located, u can always drill 2 holes to pull the Cat 5e or 6 cables easily. Just cover with a white plastic conduit.

If ugly, order some white PVC tape used for badminton court to cover up the cables and paint over it with white paint.

Then get someone to import moca 2.0 or the latest moca 2.5 adapters. Few brands like motorola, actiontec or gocoax.
I'm using moca 2.0 now and it's very reliable.
