How i wish they could upgrade N93 firmware with A2DP support.

Anyone wish to create userbar for N93?

Is one and only Nokia phone ever created with 3x optical zoom. But noise is the issue when zooming doh.gif

low light is the problem. Now is raining season, cant expect much sunlight hours.

Since is using BP-6M yet can only last a day usage for online browsing.

I choose N93 over the i version cause the keypad feedback is perfect for fast smsing...

Now i'm wondering should stick with SE anymore tongue.gif....

MSI Blueplayer from iTech website might work, its either 30 seconds or else not working flawlessly.

Only support itech clip r35 with latest firmware or Clip radio.

Btw Nokia N93 still available for sale in the market? *brand new??

Is normal, based on phone reviews, the sound actually came from its motorized zoom lens and both microphone is just beneath the zoom lens.

Yes, it is quite common for the N93 and N93i, and it seems that Nokia has already forgotten about the N93 users and have been focusing on the N93i's..You should see the firmware update change log for N93i you will scream. sad.gif

Since N93 and N93i share the same processor, by right someone can email Nokia to allow N93 firmware upgrade with A2DP profile since they already did that for N93i.

hey thanks for the log. thumbup.gif

but i do agree with you. they should tweak the n93 too, but at least it is still acceptable except for a few niggles.

the n93i, IMHO, doesn't look as classy and timeless as the n93. sweat.gif

Latest R&D for myself.

I manage to download MSI Blueplayer for N73 from itechdynamics website.

Installed and pair with Blueband R with remote control feature.

The result : It works! I able to listen the song full (breaking 30 second protection software).

Best thing, it even support AVRCP, i can forward and backward song playlist. Sound quality was awesome with bass and treble.

So for those guys who are sick of waiting N93 firmware for A2DP, try this MSI Blueplayer. But please be cautions that not all iTech A2DP powered bluetooth headset runs on S60 3rd edition. Depends on luck of firmware batch release to itech products.

One more thing, N93 video recording during low light condition sucks badly. Bright daylight (outside) can shoot clear video. Let say a wedding dinner video shooting, SUCKS!

JimmyLim, Thanks for sharing, now we all know that theres a application that cab support A2DP for N93, could you please give me the link and the Name of the application so i can add it in the front page?

And also, since the color of the video recording at night is pretty bad, Nokia has decided to make the video to black and white during Night Mode, they call it a feature smile.gif

Actually this software is not new, is been around for almost a year ever since N73 was release. is really a hit and miss, kinda risky unless you try first.

The first experiment was trying to pair Blueband to N73 and it failed with the 30 second blocking. Then tried Clip R35 with Nokia N80, it work but not above 128kbps as the sound cuts for buffering doh.gif

Actually you can do so in the settings, you can make it to open folder as answer call and close folder to end call, but i find the closing folder without ending call which is default very useful, especially you want to put it on the table and have it loud speaker while your doing something smile.gif

N93 has stereospeakers, they dont have mono. If you have mono , it will have a huge difference, N93 has a very clear and crisp sound if you play songs that are leginate tongue.gif But the fact that the speaker is being placed to near to each other is because it is the only spot to place it rather then being placed on the sides and getting covered by your hands so much, and not on the off the button, because thats where the Valueble part is tongue.gif

even music player using my sony hpm70 earphone sounds better than Nokia N70 does.

The only thing is during video call, don't try to flip it to landscape cause it lag and hangs the phone.

If not for the bigger cover screen, better firmware and 'shiny' outlook of the N93i, it really should be called N92.5 or something. tongue.gif

The N93i is just not as good in quality compared to the N93 because of N93i's cheap plastic feel and weak hinge/parts.
Also, the smaller-capacity battery and mono-recording puts the N93i's video-recording performace behind the N93.

mine is latest firmware, how could it be fixed?

Btw comparing N93 and N93i, N93i advantage is just A2DP, slimmer profile and 16M colour compared with N93 is only 256K (but you won't notice much about it)

The human eye cannot feel the difference with the color difference of 262K and 16M colors. N93, overall is better then N93i eventhough N93i has a some minor upgrades, but after some upgrades, there some downgrades too.

If any of you guys wanna get a N93 or N93i but do not know which one to go for, but if your a guy that likes to use its features like the camera and not like video center etc, you should go for the N93. But if you want to get the latest firmware from Nokia and get the new features from the Feature Pack 1 then go for Nokia N93i.

But in terms of built quality, N93 wins because it has a more solid feel rather then the N93i which is more plastic-ish.

One more thing, using N93 battery which is BP6M is using latest technology which is Li-Polymer which has higher capacity and more efficient than the N93i using Li-ion.

Btw when the battery level is low, it will auto shut off and will never boot up till you recharge it. This method was to protect the BP-6M from premature failure because the battery must not be loaded (in-Use) when the volt drop below 3.0v. If you do, the battery might fail to charge and use.

I see..Thanks for sharing! i have learnt something new..but good thing i keep my phone full bar everyday xD and also regarding your WTS topic for nokia headsets, do you sell the pop port to 3.5mm converter ?
*
Got, but don't you get Nokia AD41 + Nokia earphone which is rm 45. the remote control comes with 3.5mm audio converter. Works flawlessy on my Nokia N93. Besides sound quality is good too. But might lose to N95 cause it has 7 band equalizer compared with Nokia N93 just 5 band doh.gif

Hard to find. Very hard to find. I'm afraid production came to a halt when nokia n93i release not long ago after n93 launch.

If you want some really AMAZING themes, can check out http://www.pizero.net

But then some of the themes make my N93 cover display backlight to turn on frequently. sweat.gif

Maybe most of them are created for Symbian 9.2 or buggy.

1) flash your phone
2) after setting all the settings do a hard rest and you should have all the ram back.. *#7370#

well i love the Nokia Company than Sony but i am still hoping for a better sound and video quality from Nokia. Reviews always say that SE trumps Nokia in the Camera and Sound department. i love the designs of Nokia Phones but i would love Nokia even more if it will sport the thin profile of Motorolas and the Camera\Audio functionality of SE cybershot\walkman phones. well i prefer nokia still because of the vast array of free downloadable games and applications in the internet

Now i hate N93 for half it!

Reason :

Even i got back my phone memory reserved back to 20mb at least. Problem arise. auto switch off by itself (worse is i got no indication my phone is switch off) i could suspect is either firmware problem or else battery housing loosen.

Secondly, firmware lots of bugs! Using 2gb miniSD, lag and not responsive during a cold start. Whenever i call someone under voicemail, i can't disconnect it in anyway leading me to press the off button doh.gif.

I wonder does Nokia really cares about us? N93 a N-Series high end phone, paid expensive but firmware and bugs not completely finalize. doh.gif

Hard reset >>> *#7370#???

There is another way to hard reset, i not familiar with the procedure. Tried on N80 and end up missing WiFi Wizard doh.gif

The auto off problem solved. Stupid battery compartment is not tight enough. I end using masking tape to fill the gap.

ei everybody, videos (640x480) taken with n93i play smoothly on the phone and tv but not with real player or quicktime over the pc.. with the phone, the bitrate of the video is greater compared to the bitrate when you download the same vid to your pc and playback becomes CHOPPY... has anyone observed this? can anyone explain why this happens... videos (352x288) taken with my n90 before play smoothly using real player and quicktime...thanks a lot...

for me, it's the same. smooth for both phone and PC.

you mean once the video is transferred, the bitrate drops? are u sure? becuase for my case, both files in the phone and on PC are the same size. if the bitrate changes, size would change too.

I love the F=3.3 aperture on the N93.

Even though less light enters into the optics, there is more depth of field, meaning that more areas are in focus for macro shots.

An example is in this photo i took with my N93. biggrin.gif

Connect your N93i to your computer through Nokia PC Suite using bluetooth. Then just install your application from the PC suite. smile.gif

And if you need macro shot, you have to select from menu, unlike K750i with one touch button is all i need. Anyway the n93 camera stabilizer only work on video recording. The led flash sucks... even my N80 does better doh.gif

lol CRAP my phone's firmware is V 10.0.025 .
I'm in need of help! Warranty over...
I can't update my phone's firmware, i installed the pc suite then i downloaded the nokia software updater and i even set the Network Mode as Pc Suite, but when press update phone, it goes to this small window. The window asks me to back up. Then there's another window, there writes 1. Switch your phone on and connect it to your PC using a Data Cable, holy shit~? I clicked next next, the windows try to detect my phone, but it was unable to detect. I've already connected my phone with the pc suite using using bluetooth.
I Really need v3 firmware!! Imagine, from v1 jump to v3...Lots of changes!! omg i just can't wait

Currently i manage to pair itech R35, S38 and Blueband R.

Well there are 2 method of getting flash one is by toolbox and one with software updater provide by NOKIA. I recommend that u go care center to flash cause is very high risk procedure u might get dead phone if something interfere during the flashing process. If u willing to risk i can show u the method.

1. find NSS tool A.K.A nemesis include the magic thing to hack this program( to change ur product code of your hardware)
2. Download the software updater NSU(nokia software update)
3. Find the the desire product code of the firmware region which u can get anywhere by searching N93i product code.
4. install everything.
5. Open up NSS connect ur phone.
6. Change the product code.
7. Disconnect the phone.
8. Run NSU.
9. Live it there and watch the procedure calmly hehe smile.gif
10. Everything done.

(Forget to mention make sure ur computer don suffer errors or something might interfere the program note it!)

( For more infor try search in ipmart-forum.com and gsmhosting.com i learn this from there) thumbup.gif

Hey , when i doing Video recording, there is always some windy-noises at the back which is very annoying and noisy, i could not even record a decent video with voice, even in a very quiet area. But when i try using the Voice Recorder, it's perfect, nothing wrong with the sound. Anybody encountering this problem?

FYI --> This problem occur when i'm using 20.x.x firmwares. Now i'm already using the latest 30.x firmware but the problem still occuring.

I'm assuming that your using a Nokia N93i anyways, this is very common for modern camcorders as it uses stereo mic recording like other camcorder device, so if you move alot theres some wind waves entering the phone mics smile.gif this is just a simple rule of physics..hehe..

Step by step on opening your N93 flip with just one hand. Preferred right hand.

1. Hold it this way.

Attached Image

2. Use your thumb and push the upper flip, try not to push your thumb too deep as you might damage your LCD screen sweat.gif

Attached Image

3. Lift it up.

Attached Image

4. Finally you may use your thumb to push forward or better with your index finger to assist it by dragging the flip mechanism to flip out.

Flipping out using one hand doesn't damage it. Just that frequent bang out and bang back cause my mechanism loosen. The part loosen is beside the 3.2mp cmos camera (where the main mechanism for flip). Not sure how much is going to cost me to ask those nokia technician to get the job done sweat.gif

The N93i has two microphones on the same side, while the N93 has two microphones on separate sides of the phone??

Hence, the N93i's stereo recording may be problematic due to bad placement of the microphones??

Crippled? You mean the camera problem because you drop it last time? But then u said ok liao right?
Or what? hmm.gif

Hahaha. Well I still love my N93. Just bored of it. And after reading what jimmylim85 posted about the loose hinge due to rough usage, I really take care of my N93 now, even close and open slowly. sweat.gif but not fun like this, quite stressful. much easier to get a phone where no need to take care so much. laugh.gif

I don't no how much it cost haha... but also got chances is because of the mic... maybe damage...

Last time i have a similar case, but is my N80IE, i can hear ppl talk to me very very clear, but they can't really hear what i'm saying. So i took it to the handphone shop, he open the case and check what's the problem.

The mic was really damage, so he change one for me =_= and charge me RM15 including workmanship, okie....so when i reach home and test it.... damn it... the problem still exits, so i bring it back the next day haha.

The next day, the boss ask me to leave it there and he will test it for me, after few hrs later, he call back and tell me is the ribbon problem cause the sound can't really pass thru the mic rclxub.gif , well i don't no izzit true, but when i google it, alot of similar cases... all becoz of the Ribbon =_="

so i suspect urs might be the ribbon problem lo =_="

Don't worry shockk, it can be rectify. Just that i don't have the time to ask for quotation price for workmanship to help me tighten it back. beside i want to check how much is the pop port rubber cover.

Still enjoying it everyday thanks for software usage and maxis data unlimited plan tongue.gif

My best software is Opera Mini 4 and LCG Jukebox

Yes, it is on the phone memory, you can delete it, but it will still appear back tongue.gif

Phone memory after hard reset should be around 40MB. But it depends on what product code region your using smile.gif

apparently, StarterMonLog is a virus in fact! (i can't be so sure but i use Adware detected the file)

It appear from our PC, then silently distribute to every memory card and thumbdrive that have trasnfer files from the infected PC.

i think the barcode scanner only can use for those 3D images. the square square ones. like this: http://www.womworld.com/nseries/2006/08/30...barcode-reader/
for those line ones like on canned food from supermarket, those barcode scanner i think need to use those laser-scanner types, and n93 can't read it. i tried and tried b4 also cannot. sweat.gif

for music playing mode, depress 4 or 6 to seek music. While movie just use your 4 way joy stick.

I tried today with the barcode on Double A A4 paper pack and Canon replacement catridge. It works but all information I got is the number that comes along with the barcode under the bars. No special information.

Yes, in terms of video recording..because the N93i has stereo mics on the same side whereas the N93 has on both sides which is left and right not on the same side brows.gif

eh which is better i read reviews saying the n93 better than the n93i.......thats strange..........anyway the data cable comes together with the package rite"??
*
Yes, cable comes with the package.

N93 is better than N93i due to:

- Better battery
- Proper stereo audio recording
- Superior build quality. Metals VS Plastic. And N93i hinge easily get loose

Best you get it checked at NCC, bro. Ribbon prob is usually hardware-related. sweat.gif

Hmm, try going through your MMS Settings in your Messages "settings" and select "Multimedia Messages" since your not using Maxis 3G just select Maxis 2G, if that does not work try going any Maxix outlets for assistance. wink.gif

Thanks for the swift reply. It's fixed. I searched the internet about the problem and someone else was having the same problem with his N95. He said he fixed it by connecting the phone to his computer using the cable and choose PC Suite mode. I did the same thing and the vibration came back. Delicate phone if you ask me. sweat.gif

What this baby has and n95 or even n93 do not have are:
1. Video recording in stereo sound. And the difference is really obvious to the ear. A pity that this feature is not included in the new phones.
2. Optical zoom. 3X

oh. if that's the case, then i don't think it is ribbon problem. if it is ribbon problem, ur whole screen should show blank. and if it is camera module problem, it should only affect one of the cameras, not both at the same time.

could be a software problem. maybe you can ask them to reset/reflash the phone for you. but there could be a problem with the motherboard with the chipset controlling the camera.

Okay, here are few methods to try before you send your N93 to the Nokia Care Center,

1. Remove your Memory Card and restart your phone.
2. Remove your battery for 30 minutes from your phone and insert it back to the phone.
3. Do a hard Reset on your phone by typing *#7370# on the display screen and after the phone is reseted test it out.
4. Reflash your firmware by using Nokia Software Updater.
5. Tap your camera gently.
6. If all above doesn't work go to your the Nokia HQ Oposite TimeSquare, don't bother going to other places because they wont have the spare parts for it.

Hope this helps! Enjoy your N93! thumbup.gif

I tried buying from him but it didn't reach even after 2 weeks and I checked the tracking no he gave me and I found that the recipient was not my name and so is the address. I asked for a refund which he did. Does any shop in Lowyat or anywhere that sells great quality AP original housings? I don't really have a great experience with AP original housings, all I bought for other phones ain't excactly > 95%.

No..N95 can support up to 32GB with SHDC microSD.. N93 can support up to 4GB only.

Are you sure your n93 can run 4GB? I've tried DNA MiniSD 4GB, it didnt work.

When using stereo BT CSL50, I got bug when playing iTunes podcast "CNBC Conversation - Abdullah Badawi" and alot of CNBC podcasts.

No ringing notification while playing these podcast & can cause N93i to hang! Using mono bt is ok. Any1 experiencing similar problem?

Same problem with Jabra BT3030! Must be my phone or firmware.. even some .3gp & Nokia Podcasting's mp3!! cry.gif

SOLVED: use MID or MP3 instead of AAC/M4A as ringtone!!! it's firmware bug!!! cool.gif

charger is so slow, need 4hr++ to fully charge the cheap battery!! 1hr charge = 1hr playtime

a2dp playtime result: cool.gif
ori. battery = 4hr 30mins
cheap battery = 2hr 30mins

That's a fake type battery.

Better insist on original battery if you want to play safe with your precious phone.

Too bad i have to leave my N93. It's a great phone but expensive to service if anything screws up!

Rare phone + high price : Rare spare parts + costly service. I learn it the hard way cry.gif

ear very itchy for a2dp music.. so i bought this ap battery.. at rm28, this one gives 3.5hr of nonstop a2dp music..

got 3 BL-5F batt now..
ori = 4.5 hr, ap1 = 3.5, ap2 = 2.5, total = 10.5 hr

extra power kit using uniross emergency 2way + 2x1800mAh = 3.2 hr

plan to buy 6x1600mAh frm carrefour (promo now RM39.90) = 9 hr!

after that complete 24hr nonstop music for my N93i

data only simcard ok now after setting "Packet data conn. = When available", my N93i works with PCSuite6's One Touch Access thru USB cable, 3G 384kbps is much better than Izzi's 200kbps.

update: bluetooth dialup works after reinstall bluesoleil

my side joystick middle button also like tat.. 95% of presses not working

maybe u can try re-flash the s/w if the shop seller said it's not mechanical problem

i'm using the Uniross usb 2-in-1 charger to extend batt life, with 2x 2300mAh AA batteries, it gives extra 3hr video non-stop playback

Sorry for reviving an old thread, but i'm here to seek for some help.
Recently I got myself a used N93 and it does not come with Chinese language and Chinese SMS input.

May I know what to do in order to settle this problem?
I remembered that I have to change the phone product code and then download APAC firmware and flash it?
