Hi All,

Newly relocated to Malaysia, I just subscribed for a 1 Gig Time fiber contract

And I have several issues at this stage. I sincerely hope that you'll help me with this first one !?

I cannot access my router in order to do fine tuning in the setup. When I type 192.168.0.1 I have the time interface but only for login (password) they dont ask my ID ??? so its impossible for me to access this router ... Any idea please ?

router is a Time TP-Link AC2600/EC440-G5u

I am using a cable between my computer and the router
I have used several different browsers,
several re initilizations
router reset
etc .... nothing will help !!

Can someone here help me please ?

Many thanks in advance

JP (from France)

If not working, Google default password for said model.

Try checking the bottom of the router for the default router password. Newer TPLink routers require only a password. This would be different from your TIME PPPoE username and password.

Are we even sure the gateway is 192.168.0.1?

Try to run ipconfig and see your correct gateway and try again

Thanks yes Im sure its the right address (checked with ipconfig)

It is the right address because it opens with the time access page but without asking user name only password .... just like in the attached pic

Hi jpkan,

Good day.
I agree with the input provided by the forumers here.

The password should be located at the bottom of the TIME Router.
I remember helping a friend of mine configuring it; it is a different TP link router but the password is exactly the displayed at the bottom.

Worse comes to worse, you could contact TIME or the Field Engineer that help you with the setup?

Thank you again but of course I used the password under the router ..... but they dont ask for the UN ......

So I contacted my ISP (TIME) who provided the router

A technician came to my place, and he could access the router without any problem with his laptop after keying in UN + Password .....

Nothing worked with my laptop (3 different browsers - cable or wifi) and/or my smartphone only my password is requested and not the pair "UN/password" .....

The technician told me he never saw that and that the only possibility was the difference of language configuration between the router and my laptop (Malaysian ISP, French Windows and Android). How can this be possible ? any clue please ? if it might be possible what kind of solutions would you recommend please ...

This cant be possible since 2 weeks ago i could do it 1 km from where I am now with my hardware and with another TIME router using TIME internet

The technician signed his report after stating that it was not the ISP responsability ......

so just try using a local friend's laptop / smartphone. or bring up a VM with english windows (free vm at windows website) and try accessing your router from within that VM.

bonne chance!

or probably you registered a "tp link id" previously? if the technician is still able to login normally using username+password, then maybe some leftover data about tp-link id (which binds your router to single username) is still in your browser.

things to try:
1. clear browser cache / data
2. install another browser (firefox, brave, etc) without importing data from existing browser and try login from this new browser

Welcome to Malaysia.
Malaysia ISP always want to have full control of your router.

Don't waste your valuable time on this, buy a new router, and swap out the ISP router, as many of us are doing so.
