Hi,

i booked an aircond service, and they seem to have cleaned the filter from dust & stuff, and the foul smell from the unit is gone, so far so good,
but there's still mold inside and i thought this was covered,

Is it normal not to clean the mold in the unit when servicing an aircond ?

Full service or partial service?
Full means dismantle the parts one by one and out from the wall. Also clean the unit cover.

Partial means unit remain at the wall then remove one by one.

I wasn't offered a choice, is there a big difference in price between both ? I paid only 60 RM for this service.
And last time, same price, full clean on the ground. That's why i'm kinda lost.

I was told 200 RM for a chemical cleaning, i think they bath the whole unit in some chemical bath. I'll start by spraying some vinegar first and use full service next time.

Most of the time, you get what you paid for.

RM60 covers only the cost of the transport.

The people doing it also need salary. Chemical and gas also need money. That's why RM120 to 200

If someone give me RM60 to service, either I will tell them to fly kite, or just clean the filters.

Well, 60 RM for 30-45 minutes work is about triple the median pay of an aerospace engineer in Malaysia devil.gif

You admit though that the pay is great, even if it's hard to fill your schedule. I believe it's best as a part time work.

Admin salary free. Store, transportation free. You talking about salary not the cost of running business. The time to travel and back from your place is longer than the time to service your aircond

TS so rich pay people to clean AC filter when most people DIY that part once every two weeks.

Most people only pay other people to clean the condenser fin and blower fan. And that definitely would cost more than RM60.

Try book a freelance singer for an hour job for your event and you will find that their an-hour-salary is more than your CEO.

Freelance price is not the same with normal job because they don't get the job everyday and they have other things to cover as what other said.

if only Clean the filter than better you DIY nod.gif
YOU need to check work done item by item the service they will perform . i would say they are misleading to many .

service IDU should
1. clean filter ... depends on usage . monthly / quarterly
2. Remove AC Cover . spray chemical on fins front and back . wash off . yearly .
3. Clean the roller fan and air flow channel . yearly.
done.

if you rajin ALL can DIY . thumbsup.gif

Don't compare to full time job averaged out la.
If u see those company dinner emcees, 4 hours job from 6-10pm will cost you 3-6k myr.

Does that mean they are earning 350k a month by being an emcee around the clock?

Ac service u need find ppl that work nearby only cheap. If too far, it will cost more. The time spent driving to your house and back including toll and petrol also cost more la, samo 2 workers. 120 they can barely earn if too far away.

You just clean yourself le nowadays got sell the spray but careful la later the fins got hole u may never know. Last time I did it buy from diy, half year later start got low gas problem. But then if ask ac guy come also need make sure they are honest type, later they sabotage ur unit loosen the nut a bit every 2 months need top up gas also you headache
