Hey there, I am in the same situation as you now.

Able to share how do you narrow down from these 4 selections and go with VG27QL1A ? How is it so far?
These 4 quite similar in pricing +/-RM150. LG is 2021 model the rest should be 2020 model.
MSI27Q is BGR so for me i might consider going MSI 32Q instead as both are quite similar but 32Q using RBG and around 2k range.

Didn't consider MSI M27Q because of its BGR subpixel layout (bad text clarity)

Found Acer XB273UGS and LG 27GP850 a bit too expensive at 1.8k.

Initially really wanted to get a VG27AQ or VG27AQL1A, but read many reviews of these. ELMB is a gimmick that doesn't work well with G-Sync/VRR. The overdrive settings are pretty bad at low framerates. And these two aren't that cheap, at about 1.5k and 1.7k respectively.

In the end I bought a Lenovo G27Q-20 for 1k on Shopee 12.12 12am sale. No professional reviews available, but heck, it is way cheaper for the same specs. It's also a relatively newer early 2021 model. Might as well try it, has 15-day return policy.

Just purchase Asus TUF Gaming 27" VG27AQ 2560x1440 monitor for my laptop. smile.gif

The build is very solid, SDR output is great with pretty decent contrast but this display HDR is not good as it is only 8 bit panel and not support wide color gamut.

I think you could really consider the acer Predator XB273UGS, yes it's selling around 1.8k currently but it's at a discounted price.

Its specs are what you're looking for and it's actually below your 2k budget as well. Suggest you make your purchase quickly before Christmas since almost everywhere is having sales now.

Pretty happy with my purchase, it performs very well. Value for money.
Paid 1k for it on Shopee 12.12, comparable monitors with the same specs were 1.4~1.7k then, e.g. the Asus VG27AQL1A was 1.6k+ on 12.12
You might want to look out for it on the next sale.

I wrote an in-depth review about it, if you want to know more.

The Shopee Mall store I bought from is lenovo.os.pcimage, but it may not be the cheapest in the next sale though.

I recommend doing Shopee/Lazada search nearer to the sales day to find the best deal.

Considered this model earlier but could not see that it has HDR 400 function. Already do have another 27" viewsonic monitor mostly for work.

HDR400... it more like a feature (400nits)... rather than a function to enable... XV272UP & VX2758-2KP-MHD: should be able to achieve similar brightness...

p.s..... it's mainly the price promo advantage now below 1k....

From the official site, this model does not mentioned of HDR at all. I believe this is just a normal SDR monitor. Not support of even a basic HDR10.

I'm doing survey too, but in my opinion, VG27AQL1A not the right model to compare with Lenovo G27q-20, the closest to Lenovo is VG27AQ1A, but the spec still higher than G27q-20.

VG27AQL1A is different in class, although both models are 1440p in resolution.
Few extra features from VG27AQL1A
1. overclocking to 170Hz
2. DisplayHDR 400
3. Ergonomics design: Tilt, Swivel, Pivot and height adjustment available
4. Build-in Speaker and 2 USB ports
5. Higher Color Gamut: sRGB 130% and DCI-P3 96%

1. G27q-20 is 165hz, 5hz difference is very minor

2. HDR400 is not "true" HDR, and the edge-lit local dimming on VG27AQL1A is bad. If you want to experience HDR, I think go for HDR600~1000 certified monitors.

3. Lenovo only has height and tilt adjustment, so the ASUS is better in this aspect, but it depends on the user, whether you need the swivel, pivot features.

4. Most external speakers will be much better than the inbuilt 2W speakers, imo this is pretty useless. USB ports can be useful.

5. Problem with 130% sRGB mode is that it makes colours over-saturated and inaccurate, because most content is created with 100% sRGB in mind and Windows cannot display the colours properly in 130% mode.

So if you feel that you need the extra features, you should go ahead and pick the ASUS. I just recommend the Lenovo as I think it is a good monitor at its price point that fulfils most users' needs, whereas the ASUS costs a lot more for features that won't see much use.
