haha I supposed if given a choice, people would take the Mac due to its brand and price tag..since you are using it for basic Microsoft office etc, I think in terms of usage the Mac and windows are about the same, and if you have been a windows user, migrating to Mac will not be a problem for you as well..

do you use any specific HR systems? afaik, some HR/HRIS systems only run on windows, you may want to cross check on that with your IT..

what software do you normally use? you can google up whether these softwares available for both windows and Mac before you decide..

at least your company product runs of Mac so that part is solved..

i m using for both work and personal. working in investment/capital market. Just switch from windows.so far so good. I can use most of my software for trading/work. for work i use Office365 and few specific program and all of them work similiar with Windows. However I havent tried Thomson Reuters software in Parallel, not sure can work or not given the program run in x86 while Paralles Windows run Arm-64. if not then i have to opt of lesser web-based version.

ms word crashed a few times after migrating to my new mbp, but after a clean installation, all good (i suspect due to old configuration issues). so if ms office is your concern, then you should just choose mac!

well the issues i'm countering is due to migration, with fresh installation ms office run like the breeze in mac 

iphone 11 is good enough so you got a jizz of the ecosystem at least... I've been using office 365 for over a decade and hasn't looked back at windows.. I mean coming from 2 decades of Windows user here.. I think they both runs well.. of course at the beginning when I switched over to mac I find Windows is better..hut that's almost comparing a 20 years of experience vs 1 month.. not apple to apple comparison... today though I think they both runs the same.. at least to me.. speaking of stability..ive been using words excel PowerPoint outlook etc.. they feel the same.. I'm not a heavy intense Microsoft office user so probably there are things I don't see unstable on the mac..

Office is very stable at Mac. Just you dont get the full fledge functions in Mac. But if you are normal user, it should be fine.

so far no. but to be fair I only use Words, Powerpoints and Outlook. The rest not relevant to me. I cant comment much on extra functions in excel or other 365 products.

The computer you have on your desk at work is almost certainly a Windows machine. The laptop however... that's almost always a Mac. That's probably true of most offices around the world. At least for those who work with two computers and perhaps a third at home.

These new M chip machines with Parallels though bring forward an interesting new way of integrating with the Windows world though. I can boot up Win11 in seconds with Parallel and so far, it's very, very fast. And stable.

Yes, installing and using Parallels has come a long way. It is now very fast and installation very easy. I linked a YouTube walkthrough which will get you up and running in Win11 in less than 30 mins (with a fast internet connection to download the Arm Win11 Insider Edition that is. All completely legal too.

Bought the mouse and used few times only…so ended up selling it…the trackpad is much better imo as it can be used for so many things, gestures, scrolling is much better and etc…

Also gotten a trackpad coz I used an external keyboard (Keychron) needed the trackpad to be next to keyboard otherwise very awkward to use it with keyboard…

The mouse has bad ergonomics and the scrolling is not smooth, gestures on it is weird too..worse is the material is like plastic so it’s not smooth when you use gestures on it…

But it all boils down to what you need and what you use it for…if a mouse is necessary then consider the logictech mx master 3 (for max) for rm300+

Yeap im loving the large trackpad side by side with the keyboard…just love how smooth it can be with all the gestures etc…before this I wasn’t quite a fan of trackpad on a 13” coz of the much smaller size trackpad, but the 16” is a bliss, and the external is even bigger than the one on 16”
Go with the trackpad for user experience and also the value lol, you better not leave your company or they will come looking for you!

I actually mention both the trackpad on the MacBook and also an external trackpad (rm489)…however you don’t need the external trackpad if you don’t use an external keyboard…

It’s hard to use external keyboard and switch your hand to move on the MacBook trackpad, you need both side by side hence the external
Oh yea now need to verify with UNIdays lol, a lot already purchased their macs anyways..

Looks like they also changed their policy to only student or staff…no longer accepting parents who fund their kids in the k12 education…so it’s either you are studying or lecturing now
