I want to buy a B segment car for driving around the neighbourhood, going to work, etc. I have another car for family use.

I'm thinking of a Yaris or Jazz, or maybe an X50. My wife really doesn't want a Myvi but she might be okay with the Perodua SUV.

I want to get something for less than RM100k. My priorities are safety, comfort, NVH, low running costs.

Which car would you recommend?

The best in B-Segment now is Nissan Almera 1.0T. From NVH, fuel consumption to safety features. Just google about it, plenty of car forumers & youtubers after did comparison test between City & Vios also feedback the latest Almera 1.0T already way ahead of the competitor in Malaysian market. The only thing people complaining is also Almera higher price tag, do check it out near year end, i believe Nissan will always give big discount to clear their stocks.

new almera is good in NVH, safety and fuel consumption.
H and T interior quality is getting lower and lower, and also their parts is damn expensive. altho their engine is bulletproof.
ativa also not bad except for those unknown rattling noise almost every perodua have.

As per mention, due to the higher price tag.
Most potential owner i met also waiting for year end discount as they felt a bit pricy for a Nissan brand if without discount. laugh.gif

X50 has long waiting time, so no
Jazz is going to be phased out soon, so no
Perodua Ativa plastic quality axia level, so no

That leaves you with Yaris, the new gen looks good and it has ADAS.

Just get Ativa will do, save the RM30k.

I have my wife's car changed to Ativa for 4-5 months now, all is well. Car is quite quiet actually, and on highway cruising, the little 1.0 turbo is relatively eager to speed. Well, a tiny bit floaty due to its feather weight.

But liked I said, all is well.

Which SC don’t charge premium when customers are changing parts from them? Go and ask perodua owners how much they’re charging them. Lol
