about fake payslips, for your point of view. i truly understand you wanted to know the value of the candidate by bench marking his previous employment. depends on position, but minimum i will call candidate previous employer for background check. as a decent person and giving good impression, i will inform the candidate first before i do anything. some higher and more sensitive position, i will do background check such as directorship, bankruptcy, ctos and so on.
if i were you, if i suspect a fake payslip... i will just not hire at all, because dishonest.

Since I work in EPF (counting day for my resignation), I must tell you all, EPF can't share such information to 3rd party regarding individual contribution, if got caught you can get penalized heavily even for internal staff. Even EPF when they hire someone also they can't check the statement. So if they give fake payslip, we really can't do anything except during probation period we may assess their capability. But hey if they can do the job well, who cares? This is why I really2 hate about HR policy in Malaysia. If give, straight lowball kaw kaw even expected salary is not even minimum budget. Compared to "some" great MNC, they don't bother to see my payslip and straight away offer market rate and capability.
