RM30 for unlimited SMS

make sure don't spam marketing SMS or else it will get blocked...
*
nice, thanks. All networks some more. But am hoping for something more per-sms/usage based

QUOTE(bergstein @ Sep 17 2021, 01:11 PM)
what do you mean when no 2G/GPRS? I thought SMS uses 2G/3G/4G at least?
No internet connection as well?
*
SMS can be sent through 2G/3G/4G. But my device only GSM, so just 2G. Sending data through GPRS sometimes fail for some reason. Once I tested it was failing 20 minutes straight, but SMS works fine, so need fallback.

QUOTE(jibpek @ Sep 17 2021, 01:12 PM)
You cannot use ordinary SIM card to blast SMS like that, even though it is unlimited. You will be blacklisted immediately.

Subscribe to short code, or use short code provider.
*
Not blasting la, just to one number only, and just 4 SMS per hour.

QUOTE(N1ck @ Sep 17 2021, 01:13 PM)
get m2m sim and plan, I think celcom, digi both has it.

Screw the fallback man. Iot cost should be low and target for first tier. MYR10 ish per device
*
hmm I dunno, data availability is sort of important

I thought they are shutting down 2G?

edit: Digi prepaid RM2 for 200 sms. Not sure if it is to all networks.

Telco is shutting down 3G but not 2G... many enterprise devices still rely on 2G so cannot shutdown (for now)...
thankyou

It's not "read"... but there's detection mechanism to determine if you are breaching the SOP. They are all automated...

Every telco has different filtering/detection mechanism... depending on what kind of content you are blasting... some "ok" some "not ok"...

after all, telco <-> telco messaging settlement still based on /SMS... that's why you cannot abuse the SMS package...

yes, there is filter mechanism as SMS is not encrypted.

just ensure the content is not something fancy like those stupid online casino sms spam.

as long as content is short n sweet. it should not trigger.

Which telco has the cheapest SMS plan? prepaid/postpaid

currently doing an IoT project which has an SMS fallback in case there's 2G/GPRS connectivity fails. Planning on sending 4 SMS per hour, so that's around 2600+ SMS per month in the worst case scenario. With my current plan (Yoodo) it would cost RM100++ at 4 sen per SMS. Anything else cheaper?

price need to be to all network, not just same network
*
from your requirement description, what u need is perhaps a Bulk SMS service.. as Telco's default SMS rates quite expensive..

there's many bulk sms service providers, you could try google Silverstreet Malaysia, FireMobile, etc... contact their sales service.. or just google 'bulk sms malaysia provider'..

Depends on Telco yet again. SMS to shortcode sometimes is free especially ask you to rate Digi/maxis service quality. SMS to shortcode charging are all depends on the series...

6xxxx = usually chargeable at premium rate, sometimes chargeable at normal rate...
2xxxx = usually free

don't take it as final...
