QUOTE(chaisin @ Oct 6 2021, 08:53 AM)
So in conclusion, wireless charging definitely hurt battery compare to wire charging but MagSafe or Apple might have better control over it via software optimization such as limit the charging rate etc as a protection that’s why we normally won’t get high speed wireless charging as kind of protection to the battery. However it’s still hurt the battery if long term wireless charging such as everyday MagSafe wireless charging at home and everyday use MagSafe power bank or MagSafe car charger when on the move.

In long term, by always normal wire charging we will need to replace battery in 2-3 year time. But if only using MagSafe charging all the time, will be become like 1.5 year like that already need to replace battery? Of course in daily use we won’t notice, but in long term the life span should be shorter quite significant right based on the so called battery charging theory?

Am I correct to understand in this way?
*
Real world usage scenario to share -

I’ve been using MagSafe to charge my phone since launch - everyday once a day charge at night. My current battery health is at 90%, which is totally fine with almost 1 year of usage, so I guess it’s not too bad.

Again, the whole objective of introducing MagSafe is convenience and less clutter. I wouldn’t worry too much about the battery because at the end of the day, it is replaceable. Life is too short to worry about little things like this - just use what works / convenient for you.

strongly agreed on life is too short to worry about all those small small things, shit happens even more frequent and deadlier now. Wat more important is convenience now. my iphone 11 almost 2 years edi, batt life still 84%, i think is good enough for a 2 years old phone. i charge is as i like, i even drain finish for countless time. and i have 7.5w wireless charger in my car that i normally rest my phone on it everytime i am in the car. Actually trickle charging prolong batt life also, thats y apple already set above 80% is trickle charging, thats y it is very slow to charge from 80 to 100%,
*
I can also conclude that the iPhone 12 batteries are far worse than the iPhone 11 too, remember reading this elsewhere also tongue.gif

Yup spot on, on the trickle charge part.

Though 12PM is newer than 11PM but battery life is worse. laugh.gif
*
Yup, 12PM is using a cheaper and smaller battery - according to reports, hence why the battery degradation is more severe too.

From my experience with AAR last year, they won’t change / update the status, need to reach out to them directly on the progress.

ITWorld is an authorized Apple Retailer - means if they have a service arm then all is good.

Otherwise you can bring to QCD @ Sunway Pyramid as well.

Agreed. Plus with the SOP in place the queue stretches outside to the mall corridors and you get all the passer by staring at you, hahaha…
*
Haha I think now they do zigzag line to the toilet beside the outlet tongue.gif

Maybe tomorrow they will have to do split lines queue - by zones.

yeah, there is jewtube video uploaded previously.
no matter what charger which over 30W used, if for 13 Pro Max already capped at 27W max.
oh damn...so the 120Hz is just a mere marketing scheme for buyer to fall into it..
so we cant even fully utilize it and still, need to cap at 60Hz when either gaming, photography or videoing.
Sigh... sweat.gif
Maxis cluster... laugh.gif  laugh.gif

I never trusted MaxTech's video - always find them clickbaiting.

I don't recall Apple using DHL eCommerce - usually DHL Express only. hmm.gif

You can click the link on the SMS to confirm the source of origin.

But I am very certain it's not from Apple.

DHL Express and DHL eCommerce are 2 different entities.

Not sure how the custom clearance work, but can they get clearance ahead or at the same time during delivery? or custom need to see actual item before give clearance?
*
The actual tracker that you see is a 'summarized' version - the more detailed paperworks are usually hidden from the eyes of the consumers.

Before the physical parcel reach Malaysia, paperworks are usually sent to customs as an incoming notice and once the parcels actually touchdown - the customs will crosscheck with the documents etc to validate it.

At times Apple's paperwork might / might not be submitted in time for clearance - usually there's 2 clearance occurrence in a day, AM and PM - not sure if PM still available, it's been awhile. Usually it will be done at EPJ - Subang Airport.

Apple usually have a special 'permit' that does not involve rigorous checks for their parcels - its just a touch and go. The only challenge is the paperwork - whether it's submitted on time or not, that's that challenge.

From my rough memories with DHL many donkey years ago tongue.gif

For sure the abang-abang courier have been briefed on our packages. If anything happens, report please😘
*
Relax bro, DHL won't toss parcels like our local couriers.

Even if it they do, it's double boxed. No harm will be done to the original box itself - Apple's carton boxes are of good quality. Unless a steamroller went over it of course.

Machines Pre Order here.

Terrible service. Lack of communication. Have to constantly chase them for updates. And their social media, don't bother trying. It is almost non existent. Can continue posting about new iPhone but don't bother replying messages.

They pushed my collection date to 9th for no reason. Truly disappointed with them especially when I was given verbal assurance that I can self collect on the 8th.

Will not buy from Machines anymore in the future. Guess they don't mind losing 1 customer.
Up till iPhone 12, they were good. But not sure if they changed the way they do things, or they changed management.

It is terrible now.
*
Machines' customer service is always appalling - imagine for non-launch products also they take years to reply, can't imagine it improving for launch products.

The only benefits of buying from them is their availability - I mean they have alot of retail stores at convenient places, but their service is abysmal every time. Stopped buying from them for the longest time. Hope you get your unit by 8th.
