QUOTE(Mavik @ Jan 12 2022, 12:15 PM) Hey iPad Mini users, do you all take a lot of notes on your iPad Mini? If you do, especially those coming from a larger screen iPad, do you all face any issues with running out of space? Yes, and i came from ipad pro.. no problem taking note with this screen size, in fact to me feel more convenient

QUOTE(emino @ Jan 13 2022, 07:51 AM) Nuh I'd stick to the car analogy. Lack of side charging and pressure sensitivity is a big deal for many, esp those who uses Apple Pencil to draw. The fact is, there are more non-artist using the pencil than actual artist.. so ppl like me just need to write notes, use it as stylus.. sketch maybe occasionally.. Side charging is convenient, but this pen last days to weeks in one charge, so it make no difference in my life lol Yes, best analogy is nasi lemak.. even though in papa rich they add chicken or meat and put on fancy plate, but it still doesn’t change the fact it is nasi lemak 😂

QUOTE(!@#$%^ @ Jan 13 2022, 12:03 PM) to each his own. some likes ori, some likes oem, some likes pirated. Yes.. and can’t say this pirated, its just another product accessory, apple already allowed third party to make pencil alternative for ipad But my point was its just <90 vs 500+ hence i’m happy with the purchase.. but to compare apple pencil with bmw analogy LOL 500+ is just peanut don’t try to make it sounds like something luxury, there is no luxury on apple pencil 😄

QUOTE(emino @ Jan 13 2022, 12:44 PM) I personally think 500 definitely a luxury considering the alternatives. Nasi lemak one can argue roadside nasi lemak can have more side dish compared to hotel nasi lemak at its price, in fact it might taste even better. But myvi definitely are missing some of the features more expensive luxury cars have that myvi definitely don't need, but good to have. Same goes to Apple pencil. It's the best in its class to be used with iPad, but not all needs everything they have to offer. This is why I don't think nasi lemak a good example lo, because cheap nasi lemak can sometimes offer a lot more than the hotel could. It will make sense if the cheap stylus can offer more features than Apple pencil tho. Ok habis off topic. Now I'm hungry for nasi lemak. 😂 Ok why we argue about nasi lemak here lol But still, with regards of the “thing” to me nasi lemak analogy best suits.. as no one really care if you eat nasi lemak tepi jalan or at paparich.. but myvi vs bmw thats a big diffrent hence can’t relate to this lol.. Ok just now i already eat nasi lemak from makcik next to petronas station.. sedap.. hehe

QUOTE(!@#$%^ @ Jan 13 2022, 12:41 PM) yeah, same only. 90k car or 500k car - luxury or not depends on one's wealth. see how much one wants to send. to each his own. no right or wrong. both serves their purpose one way or another. Wealth is how much one’s have, not how much one’s willing to send/or spend… many rich ppl still kedekut This post has been edited by un_id: Jan 13 2022, 02:14 PM

QUOTE(Mavik @ Jan 24 2022, 09:43 AM) Quick question here, any of you use the Apple pencil with the iPad Mini? Coming from an iPad Pro with a fast refresh screen, I noticed then when I was writing on Notes at Machines yesterday, there was a significant lag. Just wondering whether it could be the demo unit that was on display or anyone has felt that as well? Especially those who came from the iPad Pro series. My main aim for the Mini was for writing notes, reading and pure portability. i didn't notice any lag when writing using pencil on ipad mini 6.. i also came from ipad pro 11.. overall performance yeah its not as fast as the ipad pro. but so far it didn't give any headache for daily usage, i don't have any complaint for it. imo its decent for the spec, form factor and price

I just noticed the iphone app now can rotate in landscape in ipad.. although it sucks that app developer didn’t make one for ipad, but at least now it is more convenient because it is not locked in potrait mode. But the view is small la haha This post has been edited by un_id: Jan 30 2022, 04:09 PM Attached thumbnail(s)

QUOTE(phythia79 @ Jan 31 2022, 08:23 AM) Been a silent reader here and thanks to everyone's input. Finally, Got the mini ipad 6 to replace my mini gen 2 😜. Purchased it from IT World on Lazada as they were having a little discount and also because Apple will only be able to send it sometime in late Feb- early March. Didn't want to spend rm549 for the pencil but purchased the GooJoDoq. Works very well except that it auto off at times. It was between this GJD or Switcheasy..though Switcheasy was is about rm300 on Amazon. Got the Japanese paperlike screen protector from Lazada - liking it so far. Still waiting for my cover to arrive. Reason I got it is to have a digital planner and to start on my digital Journaling. Plus I do some sketches for my little biz. Congrats! Yeah the goojodog auto off happened to me a few times, i guess its because the on/off is based on tap, maybe accidentally registered tap while we use it.. but most of times it works fine. It will auto off if not using for 5 minutes too.. i look forward for a more refined version of this pencil in future.

QUOTE(micwin1437 @ Feb 1 2022, 12:42 PM) Finally give up on finger print ID and below par display…. Decided to go with IPad Pro 12.9 M1… Was using iPad Pro 11 2018 before changing to iPad mini 6… Traded in IPhone 11 Pro Max 256gb to contra the price…. I hope you will not miss the portability of ipad mini 😁 My previous ipad pro was less usage because its tiring to hold long time. With ipad mini, i use ipad more daily

QUOTE(dev/numb @ Feb 1 2022, 05:37 PM) I agree on the display being below par (especially for the price Apple charges), but until the new 'FaceID with Mask' feature makes it to iPadOS, I consider TouchID a superior authentication process. That's one area I think the Mini got it right, since it's more portable and will spend more time outside for many users compared to the larger iPads. True faceid useless when we are not at home nowadays lol

QUOTE(hbtmt @ Feb 6 2022, 03:59 PM) By the way, how is the battery life for Ipad Mini 6? I read a comment here saying it will drain very quickly compared to normal iPad... Battery not great, but not too bad too.. i think my usage time is comparable between ipad mini and ipad pro 11. But I didn’t check detail, just that i just don’t notice any stark different..

QUOTE(hbtmt @ Feb 9 2022, 09:59 AM) I see. I'm thinking whether to sell Ipad Pro 11 2021 to get Ipad Mini 6. Ipad Pro battery life is as great as my Macbook Pro 2020. Maybe because of M1 chip... Ipad Mini 6 is only A15 chip. How about the speakers of Ipad Mini 6? Is it good to be music player? Ipad Pro is great with 4 speakers, very loud, but I still think Macbook Pro speaker is better than Ipad Pro. When I attend online class, the voice from lecturer from Macbook Pro is nicer and more immersive then Ipad Pro. It helps me to concentrate better if I use Macbook pro for class. Speaker is not great on the mini, in fact sometime i wish it is louder. My advise is, only downgrade to the mini if only you felt the 11” ipad is cumbersome to bring around (this is my case). Otherwise, the ipad pro is definitely better overall

QUOTE(RiriRuruRara @ Feb 26 2022, 03:29 AM) Thanks. Thanks. In real life is the ipad display that dull looking or was it bcs of the camera angle? As u can see the ipad is standing a bit slanted and room light reflection and heavy fingerprint coz i install cheap sp lol.. and true tone and night shift are on, hence the yellowish look.. and oh probably because in comparison to the monitor which looks way nicer display, because it is a good display hence the price 😄 This post has been edited by un_id: Feb 26 2022, 08:57 AM

QUOTE(Savor_Savvy @ Mar 6 2022, 10:45 AM) I did, and I am using my Mini more than my Ipad Pro. The size really matters. same opinion. when i bought ipad pro last time, i thought i can do more with it (light office works) but turned out i always needed my macbook still for works. then i changed to ipad mini, i think its perfect for its purpose.. basically when i feel watching things on my phone feels too small, i grab the ipad. hence i bring it around most of times

QUOTE(tzxsean @ Mar 23 2022, 01:56 AM) I'm currently using iPad Pro 9.7 inch (2016) and thinking to update to iPad mini or new iPad Air Any thoughts bout going from 9.7 inch to 8.3 inch? how bout the issue on the jelly screen? I use portrait mode almost permanently I mainly use my iPad Pro for youtube, games and web surfing at home. With the silicone case on, the iPad is quite heavy to me when holding for long time. p/s: It's also an option to tell me just remove the silicone casing and use the iPad Pro naked too Ipad mini would suffice based on your need. Didn’t notice jelly screen issue on mine. From ipad pro 9.7”, the new ipad mini is quite a leap ahead imo
