QUOTE(kclow1981 @ Oct 23 2024, 09:06 PM) It will come back. Happens to me last time, usually will fixed if I turned on LKAS in a 3 hrs drive on highway. Then the sticky steering come back after few days. I might be paranoid but I suspect the technician might have done "something" and made it back to normal. Tested drive with the service advisor the first time, went back, came back for another test drive with the technician and he said there's no problem but still acknowledged the issue and proceed with the claim. |

QUOTE(lee82gx @ Oct 23 2024, 10:10 PM) similar to you. after going for my second claim during the checkup, the problem disappeared. yah this could be the issue too. when the sticky steering happened, i didn't use the LKAS because the minor adjustment will just (somehow) stick the steering to the left or right direction and I can see minor adjustments happened all the time on a straight road. After couple of days no more stickiness, I have no clue what happenedPerhaps there is a threshold amount of grease displacing and re-distributing back into the right channels in the gear mesh. |

my only unsolved issue is the tik tik tik sound on steering when turning, so far complained many times but still unsolved. it's not impacting the driving experience but the sounds are annoying.

QUOTE(Eithanius @ Oct 20 2025, 01:04 PM) Though I have a different car but I'll probably chime in about steering rack. I drove the current GN2 City now on its 4th year, and my steering developed clicking sound last year. Went to SC, they say the clicking sound too soft to be able to claim warranty from HQ. Fast forward this year when I raised the issue again after the clicking sound grew louder, they said claim warranty straight away, no questions ask. Both instances same SC. The City is my 2nd Honda, and warranty is ending next month. may I know if they just replaced the entire steering rack, not just parts/ applied greases? thanks!Seeing that steering rack issue is so prevalent in most Honda models, seems like I have to look elsewhere for my next car. Thanks for the input guys... |
