Cheaper than all ASEAN countries (except Philippines) and East Asian regions like Japan, South Korea, Taiwan which are the car manufacturing giants.

Ya la. We are using Toyota NR engine family on Myvi. That's why MyVi can cruise until 200kmh like AE86.

People mindset

Sushi car - Widely available globally, higher quality when compared to local car

Local car - Only available in limited market, lower quality when compared to Sushi/Kimchi/Sausage/Cheeseburger car. Hence, the lower price (Illusion of lower price as all non-local car prices are jacked up to plotek the sales of local cars)

The only way for local car to be similar standard as other global cars is to go global. However, people just comfortable with local market. Why take the stress to go global?
