If you never handle even RXZ/FZ/RR, better go for 250CC bikes like R25 or the CBR250 to learn riding.

600CC, if your skills are noob. if lucky then few scratches and few broken bones, unlucky direct die. Big bikes corner differently from small bikes, wrong technique surely you can't turn and crash into something (overshoot).

Look at news, so many big bikers die even if they're rich. Follow friends to race on Karak but without the skills.

600cc lah...

250 is ok if you are getting your very first bike, as in TOTALLY NEVER ride ANY bike before then you can use the 250 as training. but if you already can handle clutch bikes even a kapchai like y15, then getting a 250cc is a waste of money as you'll quickly outgrow the bike in 2-3 months time.

600cc

250c is just so slow and overpriced, performance wise not much diff with 150cc and the maintenance/running cost also similar to >500cc bike...might as well jump to straight for 600cc

those that said to start learn with 250cc, obviously never ride....250-600cc ride and handle similar...unless u going for track

been there, done that

yeah then go for anything above 40hp then if you wanna feel a good difference. cb650, mt07, ducati monster/scrambler etc.

doesn't necessarily need to be supersport (you can if you have the money)

600cc, knowing you have Y15 then you are familiar with the clutch system. 250cc is no fun, you'll eat smoke from a modified 150cc as they are fast as you, some might be even faster. 600cc? 1st gear already 140kmh.

as long as you don't think you're rossi and main baring just go for 600cc. slowly drive the bike first. get used to it.

no need to change in the future.

also assuming 600cc is no problem financially

I tried the 200c then 650cc before after getting my B full license.

Recommended, but not compulsory for you to get the 250cc.

Power wise- yes there is a gap. But i dont think its significant provided you are not power craze. Maintenance wise its relatively almost the same.

If I was in ur place, I go for direct 600cc

Even the aprilia rs660 is not that scary.
650 inline 4 such as CBR650 is still manageable.

But not 600 sports such as r6, zx6, gsxr6, cbr600, etc.

why get 600? actually MT09 seems like a good bike. when i commute daily to SG last time a lot of commuter use it for daily commute. sound gooding. machine price seems affordable range.

If the bike can tahan everyday queue kastam. i think reliability should be good as well.

since it's only Y15, go 250cc first to learn the dynamics of a sportsbike

you can go straight to 600cc if you are familiar with riding a 250cc before, or 150cc two strokes like yamaha tzm, honda nsr etc. Or even 150-250cc four stroke bikes that resembles a sportsbike or naked style like suzuki fxr150 or yamaha fz150. You need to train your hips on gripping the tanks and get used to it before even trying a 600cc, because on 600cc you should concentrate on controlling the bike and not getting used to the new aggressive riding positions.

go big cc. if u go take full b. make sure u ride ur big cc on test day to get ur feeling accustomed.

however as an owner/ex owner of many cc bikes. i enjoyed more on smaller ccs. maxed out the performance on usage. i tend not to ride big cc in klang valley cuz heavy. reminder to you if u intend to go weekend tts kuala klwang, cameron, genting, etc2. dont ride like motogp. its ur life & other ppls life at risks. go track safer, worry free, enjoyable, can max out ur bike power. i got full b but most times riding ma grom125 pit bike on TTs can tapao big bikes at kona.

Here is one example on car.. 3.0 turbo vs 5.0 V8 NA..
Maybe 250cc turbo can outrun a 600cc NA.

Might as well get 1000cc bike so no need upgrade

Absolutely

I think 1000cc is too small for beginners

Better the Triumph Rocket III 2500cc or the new Suzuki Hayabusa 1300, those are great beginners bike

however as an owner/ex owner of many cc bikes. i enjoyed more on smaller ccs. maxed out the performance on usage. i tend not to ride big cc in klang valley cuz heavy. reminder to you if u intend to go weekend tts kuala klwang, cameron, genting, etc2. dont ride like motogp. its ur life & other ppls life at risks. go track safer, worry free, enjoyable, can max out ur bike power. i got full b but most times riding ma grom125 pit bike on TTs can tapao big bikes at kona.

Yeah, if they somehow don't like the look of busa since it looks so fat, they can always opt for the Kawasaki Ninja H2, it's smaller, lighter, faster too, it's one of the best beginner-friendly motorcycle. Heck, as someone who has been riding for over 10 years having B full license, I would suggest anyone who just got their P or even L to get the Ninja H2 or the ZX10R as their first learner bike.

Depends on what type of engine config.

900cc vtwin cruisers will give out about 70ish bhp.
Where as inline 4 900cc such as the z900 (948cc) gives out about 125bhp and close to 100nm of torque.
Even the 850cc mt09 is about 115bhp and close to 90nm torque.

Same like most ppl couldn’t even tell apart a standard 3/5 series vs a m3/m5, it’s just a BMW, so same as your bike, it’s just a motorcycle that mostly associated with foodpanda

250c is just so slow and overpriced, performance wise not much diff with 150cc and the maintenance/running cost  also similar to >500cc bike...might as well jump to straight for 600cc

those that said to start learn with 250cc, obviously never ride....250-600cc ride and handle similar...unless u going for track

been there, done that
*

250cc is not much different with 150cc? Unless you are comparing 4 stroke 250cc to 2 stroke 150cc then yes la.. otherwise no.

I own a 250cc kawasaki ninja, even the 150cc kawasaki rr which is a two stroke bike unable to potong me when we tried a friendly match. Stock to stock.

dont get what this means? can please enlighten me? it costs more to use 250cc for interstate travel because of higher maintenance due to wear and tear of the engine for maintaining high rpm? or consume more petrol,....or??

Y15 top speed is only around 126km/h gps (meter ~165 km/h)
Kawasaki ninja 250 top speed around 160km/h gps (meter 165km/h)
Everything stock including exhaust, filter, sprocket size etc.
Pecut also ninja wins.

The problem with big cc bikes for newbies is the throttle response sensitive due to big power. Example if masuk lubang and your hand tertwist the throttle a bit... Small bike just bunyi bising but no sudden surge forward if that time gearing is correct.. if big cc bike the accident will cause the bike to surge forward and well...lose control.
