tried using daimyo bow very nice but it just tickles rathian...
also very hard to aim for its tail. wonder how lakum uses a bow.

You can cut Tails with a Bow, but only with it's Melee damage. 
Aside from Earplugs, you can block screams too with any weapons that has a Block feature. Aside from those, PRAY.

"Recovery" increased the recovery speed of your Red Gauge. (When you are damaged).

Well, I did port forwarded my router but me and my friend still getting the same damn comm error and breaking off during quest. Sigh, testing my patience. Anyway, my friend who uses a Fat PSP traded it in and bought himself a Slim PSP. Although we still doesn't know why his Fat can't play with us MHF2. Anyway, at least now 3 of us can finally play together and yeah, we're having a blast. ^^D

By the way, how do you take picture and record PSP gameplay? There's a LOT of perfect picture taking moments when we were playing together.

just killed shen gaoren yesterday...twice
the red thing on his leg got 2 levels. Let's call it 'light red' and 'heavy red'. Basically the idea is to get all 4 legs to be 'heavy' and gaoren will fall onto the ground...lying there for about 30 seconds for you to chop chop just keep on whacking until you reach the last part of the map and use the driller when he's DAMN close for max damage.

Damn so hard to get Rathian plate. Today with help from my friend we whacked about 9-10 Rathian (actually starting after gathering last nite). From 2 star to HR5 Rathian (including Pink)...we do all. Every single Rathian died with broken head and claw and no tail. But still no plate. Reading on GameFAQ the percentage to get it is very low 

Only left is to capture the beast...but the percentage in even lower 

how do you guys play with bow? the damage is so damn low...
